I Cor. 7:20 "Remain With God" (August 25)

I Cor 7:23 ~ You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.  So, brothers, in whatever condition each was called, there let him remain with God.

I Cor 7:20 - When married people become Christians, they should stay in the conditions where they are.  We have shared that verse with many friends who have become new believers.  One brand new Christian friend, who was living with an unbelieving husband who was addicted, made that ghastly beautiful decision to stay with her husband and move toward him.  A couple of weeks later, her twenty-something-year-old husband was dead.  Whatever conditions you are in this day, remain with God!

  1. So many things going on here, and with each of you. Praying for Sally for the staff to be cleared, for Mary Lou, for continued perfectly beating heart, for Jan as she says goodbye to her youngest girl, for Bev for peace and rest as she gets Britt settled in for another semester, for Sylvia for rest and a rhythm of life that pleases God, for Angie for her brother Dave's healing and freedom from pain with pancreatic cancer, for Deborah's continued peace in the storms, for Michele as her family all starts back to school--who else needs prayer this day? This day is filled with troubles and concerns but this world is not long, and eternity awaits!

Please pray with me for Mike's mom who had knee surgery and for Mike's uncle who is dying and from all indications, his soul is not saved. Also, please pray for Greg's finances as he desperately tries to prepare to be a good husband and soon, a father.

Lord, wherever we are this day, we remain with You. We know these trials are producing lasting effect, that they are momentary afflictions, and heaven shines even brighter as Your Day nears. Thank you for caring about details in our lives and attending to even small needs. And in each, to God be the glory! Amen.

  3. Oh thank you for your prayers for all of us! And we offer a prayer for you, mother of the groom, once again. Called to peace. Called to serve and remain, no matter what.
