I Cor 12:3 "Except by the Holy Spirit" (September 1)

I Cor 12:3 "...no one can say, 'Jesus is LORD,' except by the Holy Spirit."  If there is anything right within us, it's because of His Power, His Spirit.  He has set His Love on us not because of anything we have done.  We can't make Him love us any more!  Nothing, except by the Spirit of God.

    "...to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues."

    Satan, go ahead and try, but it won't work. I'm not going to let these words cause me to doubt. Lord, let my faith be genuine and keep my focus on You.

    "And I will show you a still more excellent way."


    Looking forward to the promise at the end of our scripture selection today. Looking for the promise in all the ups and downs of life. It is the reward I seek as I stumble over my words and my actions. As I recover from a back injury, I thank Him for time to rest, reflect and recharge. I am looking for a more excellent way to love Him more and serve Him.

    Every Gift is of the Spirit. God's will and purpose in each of us is what sets us apart to serve in the unique call He pours out on us through His Spirit.

    We discern by the Spirit.
    We teach by the Spirit.
    We give by the Spirit.

    The Glory of our gift is God manifested through the Holy Ghost in us.

    But all the gifts hang on this next more excellent way:

    "And I will show you a still more excellent way."
