Acts 21:24 "Let the Will of the LORD Be Done in my Troubles" (July 18)

Acts 21:2 They just happened to find a ship crossing to Phoenicia.  That's the Providence of God! And they capture another moment in time...another photograph. The faithful kneeling on the beach to pray and say farewell to Paul.

They didn't want Paul to go to Jerusalem.  They were concerned for his safety.  Agabus prophesied that the man who owns the belt will be bound hand/foot and delivered over into the hands of the Gentiles.  Again, they begged Paul not to go.  His response:  "You're weeping and breaking my heart for I'm ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for The Name!  Paul knew he was facing suffering and he didn't flinch.  So the church all in one voice said in Acts 21:14:  "Let the Will of the LORD be done!"  There is no other remedy.  HE doeth all things well.

When troubles come, "This must allay our grief, that the Will of the LORD is done.
When we see it coming, this must silence our fears, that the Will of the LORD is done"
                                                                                                                 Matthew Henry

  1. And in our small troubles over here, let the Will of our LORD be done! Things have to come together today for Britt to find a dermatologist or a surgeon to have a biopsy on his lip for melanoma. Would you please pray for my youngest that Providence guides our steps this day as we knock and ask and seek for help! Praying for Mary Lou this morning as she has the procedure on her heart. May Peace that passes understanding be all over her! With a tear or two, I'm praying for Mary Lou! Life can be so scary at times and our flesh does not want to suffer. But God is in this for Mary Lou and Britt. He will sustain them. Please bring rest to their hearts, O God!

  2. I'm praying here this morning at the ranch for Mary Lou and Britt. I know God's Hand is all over both of them. I feel His tender mercies toward us.

Purify, Lord, until all that remains is You. Rest and favor this day, for Bev and Britt as they search and find You, the Great Physician, working diligently on their behalf. Peace and restoration of good health this day, I ask for dear Mary Lou, as she has endured with patience this waiting, opposing fear with Your Love and faithfulness.

Whom shall I fear? None but Thee, Lord. None but Thee.

  3. No such thing as fear for Paul. Even when foretold of his dreadful demise, he said-"Why are you breaking my heart? I am prepared to suffer and die for the Lord Jesus." What a testimony of faith. Paul got it. As my husband says, "There are bigger fish to fry, more than this humble life at stake here. More to hear the Living Word and be saved. To live is Christ. To die, gain! Living or dying, may His Name be praised!

"Let the will of the Lord be done" we echo with the saints of old, and say Amen.

  4. I am home...1pm been here about 30 minutes. All is well...the heart went right back into rhythm with just one shock. I did not sleep well last night and kept seeking Him. Prayed, praised and slept some. When I got admitted and was in the pre op waiting room...His beautiful absolute peace was all over me, just as Bev had prayed. Beautiful feeling. He also showed up in the form of my doctor's nurse..she squeezed my right hand and even squeezed my feet and gave me some sweet smiles. I had asked Him for a physical hand IF it all possible. Even though it was not invasive, I was a little apprehensive. He so beautifully showed up in His spirit and then in her. Have to get an EKG next week to make sure it is still in sinus rhythm. It can slip back out..praying that never occurs. My husband and I had prayed for whatever He wanted and He allowed it to go back into sinus rhythm. Bless His holy name. Feel so much better. going to take a nap for lack of sleep last night. Bless all of you for praying..prayed for Britt this morning and will pray some more. Praise His name.

  6. Bev, this is one of my most favorite writings of yours! I am considering it an honor to walk alongside you during this call on your life. Paul was on mission. He never counted the cost. He had the vision of souls lost for eternity that kepts him moving to the beat of God's drum.

    Onward...thy will be done, Lord...

Provide by Your Hand, Lord, for Bev, Bob, Britt, Annette, Mary Lou, Ang, Jan, Michele, Annette, myself and all the other pearls here. We seek You. We serve You. Purify us until only You remain. Amen.

  7. Just had to come back to say that Providence showed up in my office today! Britt's dermatologist called and said the procedure was going to be more than they thought and they gave me a quote. By faith, I canceled the appointment as I had no peace about it. When it comes to your children, you are more than willing to spend any money necessary to care for them. But something wasn't right so I canceled. One hour later, a parent walked into my office and said he had heard that Britt was having a biopsy. He said that he wanted Britt to go to his doctor. I said we'd give them a call. Within 15 minutes, the doctor's nurse called me to set up his appointment tomorrow at 3pm at a Cancer Clinic. They said he needed to be seen immediately! It's from God. Thanks for your prayers.
