Mark 3:33-35 "Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you. And He answered them, 'Who are My mother and My brothers?' And looking about at those who sat around Him, He said, 'Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother.' "
How dear is that? Jesus calls me and you that most affectionate name of dear mother, dear sister. He names us when we follow Him to do His Will. Today is my daughter Blair's birthday. I'm the only one in the whole world that she calls "Mother." Except for the Holy One who calls me his "Mother" when I live for Someone higher than my own good. His Will be done, mine undone.
There are only two kinds of people in the end:
Those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and
Those to whom God says, in the end, "Thy will be done."

Mark 3:24-25 "If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand."
ReplyDeleteConfusion. Division. Disagreement. The Scripture today seems to be speaking more of groups of people whether nations, churches, religious denominations, nations, or families, but I wonder if they also could be taken one step further and apply to our own hearts. Division begins in our single-mindedness, self centeredness-when we fail to keep Christ-centered lives. It begins in our own hearts and is terribly contagious.
Our houses, our families, our churches, our nation, our world seem to all operate in such brutal disharmony, but God is not the author of confusion--Jesus is the Prince of Peace, our sure Source for unity and oneness with Him. Bless your homes. Bless your families. Resolve your body, mind, and heart to be at peace in whatever circumstance you find yourself this day. And if you are without peace, ask Him who generously provides for all your needs.
And that is my prayer for each of you Pearls today: May we live in peace even this day within our own bodies as well as with others because we live at peace in Christ Jesus.
From Jesus' family thinking He was out of His mind, to the religious people thinking He was of satan, we see total confusion as to Who Jesus is.
ReplyDeleteMay we always be secure in the knowledge He is our Lord, our Savior, our Redeemer, our Healer, our Deliverer, the Prince of Peace and so much more!
I balk if someone looks at me like I'm wrong much less if they utter a questioning word. I fume when family dismisses me much less a verbal match of words. And like Abba's girl says: from his family to his fellowship to his pharisees---they all thought HE was out of his mind. I faced a tiny rejection in comparison to this today but it stung wildly. Unwanted. Abandoned. HE knows my frame, knows how we all have felt this day!
ReplyDeleteAnnette, your comments touch this weary soul in my mirror. Division starts with my own heart. Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem in my own body and in yours.
ReplyDeleteHe would have been such an unusual brother or son, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI've been around family that just loved to fuss. It was their "fun."
I would think that many thought Jesus was "different."
And, we all probably have been thought of that way.
We are different!
How in the world did they think He was possessed?
Do you wonder if someone ever did something bad to Him, that they would instantly have something bad happen to them?
Interesting to think about how His family and others treated Him.
Don't you just see the birds following Him?
