Matthew 12:25 - Jesus knew the thoughts of the Pharisees. Does anyone know my thoughts---scary thought. Cause I'm way worse than you think I am. And He is way better than we all deserve! I think that I'm alone and no one really knows what I'm thinking. God does. Always has. And He is still moving toward me, calling me closer. Even when the abundance of my heart comes out through my mouth, Matthew 12:34. So grateful I don't have to dig for my sin. His Word reads me and I stand exposed. Incredible. Wonderful. Holy Place - Gen 28:16. God is in it. Calling us to Come Near.
I don't want to underestimate either my sin and struggle
or your Power and Love.
I so naturally deny the evil in me and the pain I feel
just to emotionally survive.
And I have a hard time seeing Your Power and Love
when so many things go wrong.
The Promise of Restored Beauty stirs something deep.

Lots of things to ponder today. Thank you, Bev, for sharing your thoughts, you have such a bare-bones honesty! We all stuggle with our thoughts, and the words that come out of our mouths.
ReplyDeleteGod gives us grace. I don't believe accepting this gift comes easily. In my experience, Grace is hard-won through soul searching, prayers and desire to love Christ above all else. Although He gives us the gift of grace, we have to receive it.
"people will give account for every careless word they speak." Thankful these Words convicted me again today. EVERY careless word? Ouch!
ReplyDeleteMay our words encourage someone who needs it most today.
Angie :)
Same thing stuck out with me today, Angie. Our words hold such power. Wondering if it's because His Words hold the keys to Life and Death that He gives so much power to words. Words hurt and words heal. My words matter, not just in the moment, but in that Day of Truth and Accounting. Our words spill out of our heart's condition. What is that place for me today? Is it grounded in forgiveness? Lord, I need a clean slate and the promise of restored beauty that 66LL talks about. Expose the evil within me and help me clean house of all its content. And restore my heart to overflow with Your Good and Healing Words.
ReplyDeleteMatthew 12:36-37 "I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
My 1st thought as I read today's passage was - oh no, every careless word...I've spoken many in my life time, I used to tell myself I had the gift of truth, however we all know there is no fruit of the Spirit called the gift of truth. I have really been praying about the words of my mouth and asking the Lord to convict me the last several years.
