Matthew 10:1 - And he called to Him His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. Amazing to me that Jesus called a Betrayer to be part of His Story. Who wants a betrayer on their team? The Son of God wanted Judas. The disciples went into villages and towns not to take but to give---healing and freedom, reaching out to their world of about 800,000 people. Fast forward about 100 billion people later (all the people who have ever lived on earth). We are still talking about His Fame, still praying for healing from strokes and cancer. Six billion plus people alive this day and we still cannot stop talking about Him. Eleven disciples turned the world in a good direction offering healing and hope. Real Hope. His Story.
True Christianity turns the possible into the actual.
As the biblical ax breaks the frozen sea within us...
we become the persons we were meant to be.
We can live the New Way of the Spirit that
values loving God and loving others above everything else.
The New Way that lifts First Things into First Place and puts
Everything else into second place where everything else belongs.66 LL
For it is not you who speak, but(AH) the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
ReplyDeleteI pray my soul decreases so the Holy Spirit in my increases. I want to do the will of the Father and speak His words.

ReplyDeleteBev, do you know how many mornings that I select the same verse you do, then come over here and see God stirred you in the same verse, often with another (deeper) interpretation. Healing has been on my mind so Matthew 10:1 with emphasis on the word every is my message this day. We have the authority to cast out EVERY disease and affliction by His almighty Name. Let us keep praying and not grow weary for the burdens placed on our hearts for others and for ourselves. He is mighty to save.
ReplyDelete"And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction." t
The first ones that He sent the disciples to spread the Word was the lost house of They were not that receptive, wonder if that is why we sometimes have a harder time reaching family members for Him. There were so few of them and they were for the great part, uneducated men, yet with His power they turned the world upside down and the Word spread.....and here we sit today discussing the Word because of their obedience. What does that say to us?
ReplyDeleteMay He heal you today Bev of the flu and Blair and our dear Siesta Joanne who is for her life as I type these words. Bless all of you for your prayer warrior prayers.
Matthew 10:1 "1 -4 The prayer was no sooner prayed than it was answered."
ReplyDeleteWow!

Tucked warm into my bed for the night with the flu. Yuck. Thinking of Joanne---she has been placed in a medically induced coma due to recurring seizures. 2 Chron 20:12 when we don't know what to say, Our Eyes are on God. Be with this sweet friend!

ReplyDelete"Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of men, for..."
What a strange preparation for a team of men.
I'm afraid the wolves are still here.
Wolves, sheep, serpents, doves.
Wolves are predators. Wolves kill. They typically attack women and children, but have been known to kill men. They attack from behind and go for the throat. And they usually run in packs. One may attack the legs while the other wolf goes for the throat.
Don't look this up on google. You will be sick how they leave their victims.
Sheep - well, they are much more pastoral. They tend to follow a leader that's usually just the first one to get up or move away. They feed on grass and hay. They can be prey for other animals. They don't usually wander. They are usually food-driven. You can lead them around with an empty bucket if they think it has food in it. They have long-term facial recognition abilities and can differentiate emotional states through facial expressions. Sheep can learn their names if worked with patiently. Sheep have no way to defend themselves when attacked by a predator. They actually can die from panic when attacked. Their #1 predator - wolves.
Just thought it was interesting comparing the wolves to the sheep.
Bev, so sorry you don't feel well! I've been home from work with a virus for the past two days. So very sick. Even got a shot today at the doctor's office...
ReplyDeleteJoanne is on my mind all the time. Praying for her and that sweet family. She is a passionate woman-of-faith and my heart longs for God to raise her up whole.
Annette, I pray your same prayer. I pray my soul decreases so the Holy Spirit in me increases...so beautiful.
And our other Annette...you have a worthy home. Go back and read those verses about seeking the worthy homes and praying peace for those homes. The minute I read those verses, I thought about you.
Blessings to each of you sweet pearls. Jan, you are blessing me with your comments. I know the hurts behind your heartstrings. God will be faithful in all our needs.
Sylvia, you seem so at peace in your comments. God is focusing you. You are His faithful lamb.
Ang, we have missed you here and I am SO GLAD you came back. I love your smile and the way you share with us as God leads you.
MaryLou, I thought the same things you did about the disciples! The reading today is the foretelling of their future as Christ-followers. And I can't wait to meet them one day in heaven. What a legacy of faith they have left for all of us.
Praising You tonight, sweet Jesus. You know where we go. You know it's not an easy road we travel. But You are a consuming fire in our hearts. Heal us that are sick. Heal Joanne. Heal Blair. Make us wise as serpents and innocent as doves. For Jesus' Sake. Amen.
Deborah, so sorry you are not feeling well. Take care! May God give you much this weekend...He's always doing you good. You live so obvious!
ReplyDeleteI'm better. Not sure what's going on. Virus...headache, chills, queasy stomach...then major hives. Stuck at home trying not to have any kind of anaphylaxis shock. After seeing the doctor Friday evening, he gave me tons of medicine and warned me symptons could lead to major problems and call the ambulance.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess you know that made me have a lovely evening.
Could it be stress? Actually, I could use one of those PANIC buttons.
Today I am feeling much better. Joanne kept really staying on my heart today. Prayed through several names that have been on my prayer list and the burdens have lifted.
Hope you are feeling better, Bev. I am praying for you.
