Honor me by bringing your best to Me (Malachi 1:11). What is the best I can give my God this day? Listen to Me. Obediently listen (2:1). Don't whine if you don't get what you want from God (2:2). Don't break the faith-bond with your vowed companion (2:2). God was there when you made your vow and inhabits the smallest details of marriage (2:15). Guard the Spirit of Marriage within you. Watch yourselves. Don't let your guard down (2:16). Return to Me so I can return to you (3:7). Return by being honest (3:8). Test me in your tithe and see if I don't open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams (3:16). God sees what you are doing and is listening in. HE is taking minutes even this day as you talk things over. Your names are written down for you honor Him so (4:2). That's happening in the Unseen World this very day. The Sun of Righteousness will dawn with Healing in His Wings. Remember and Keep the Revelation (4:4). Look ahead, I'm sending Elijah.
What God wants me to hear in this book: I have loved you! "I have loved you in a way that people who live for no higher purpose than to enjoy this life do not realize...I have chosen you to be part of My plan to restore this earth to its full beauty and My people to their full beauty." 66 LL. Yet, you weary Me with your idea that people enjoying the pleasant life of prosperity and peace are the real winners while saints like Paul and Mother Teresa are the losers---arrogance." 66 LL.
"Return to Me, not for the blessings of life that bring pleasure but for the blessing of My Presence that sustains hope." Prisoners of Hope. 66 LL. And God became silent for 450 years.

As we close the pages of the Old Testament, what is one verse that God brings to your mind this day from all that you have read this year?
What is one verse that God immediately brings to your mind this day from all that we read in the OT this year. Leave a comment about what is the first verse that comes to your mind as you think about these past nine months.
ReplyDeleteFor me---this is the first thing that comes to mind:
Hosea 7:14 - they (Israel) do not cry out to God from their hearts but they wailed upon their beds.
God had said to Hosea in Hos 1:2 to take an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness. Unbelievable. Hosea cried out from his heart. He knew what it meant to live a repentant surrendered life. God's Plan A is to make us all fully alive with Joy, Meaning, and Love. "Let every difficulty, big or little, reveal whether you are My faithful or My adulterous wife. Repent and Surrender more fully to a Holy God and His Plan A. 66 LL
I cannot get Hosea out of my mind...what is the thought that comes to you?
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
ReplyDeleteThat one and Isaiah 54:10...I'll let you look it up.
Oh, I will be thinking about y'all!
I don't even know what SKYPE is.
Did I even spell it right?! I'll know you all SOMEDAY! What a day of rejoicing that will be. Yes, the KING IS COMING!
Love and Blessings,
FG Forever Grateful
So here we are: “a small group got together to wait in hope, trusting Me to be carrying out a Good Plan even when things were bad. (Micah 3:16) [paraphrased in 66LL p. 189]
ReplyDeleteAnd, like Dr. Crabb, “My Bible is still open and I’m still here.” May be all I can say for my obedience in this journey so far. But I am still here, Bible open, with a better eternal expectation for the Party, and less expectation in today’s circumstances, and, hopefully, less demand for blessing in this moment—especially if it brings a bigger reward eternally.
Oh I am so bad at determining favorite or best or most meaningful…it’s been such an eye-opening journey reading with each of you. And as usual, my favorite is found each day within the reading. I memorized Micah 6:8 last year for Scripture memory and it holds a special place for me, mostly in the last admonishment: don’t take yourself too seriously. Take God seriously!
“But he's already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women.
It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don't take yourself too seriously—take God seriously.”
“Return to Me, not for the blessing of life that bring pleasure but for the blessing of My Presence that sustains hope!” (66LL p. 190)
Bev, what a faithful, loving testimony you are to each of us. Thank you for your anointed words each day. You radiate Christ so beautifully. I will hug your neck very soon! I love you all from the inside out. And that has been my sweet honor and joy even now. From the deepest place in my heart, I thank each of you for being on this adventure in His Word!
“Something is stirring…like the seasoned sailor who can smell land before he sees it…a whiff of heaven?...It’s time to meet My Son! (66LL)
This is twinkle posting at Annette's!
ReplyDeleteGood morning! What a blessing it is the rise this morning under the Texas sun! And I look forward to our time together this weekend...
One verse? (I've learned so much.)
But the one verse that comes to my mind first thing is the one where Joshua goes out to battle and looks to see the Captain of the Lord's Army with him. He asks the "Captain" who's side are you on, and the answer was "God's side."
It strengthened me during a time of deep need and focused my heart to always be on "God's side."
I wish I could bring the passage reference up and share it again.
One other thing, Annette revealed how Jeremiah would be thrown into captivity for God's Message he was speaking. He would be sent away still proclaiming and he would be released with that same message as he was coming out of his captivity.
Faithfulness to God...and God alone. What a hard thing for our flesh! I love these two points and hide them close to my heart at all times.
From Malachi
ReplyDelete"He'll be like white-hot fire from the smelter's furnace.
He'll be like the strongest lye soap at the laundry.
He'll take his place as a refiner of silver, as a cleanser of dirty clothes.
He'll scrub the Levite priests clean,
refine them like gold and silver,
until they're fit for God, fit to present offerings of righteousness.
Then, and only then, will Judah and Jerusalem be fit and pleasing to God, as they used to be in the years long ago."
I wince at the thought of the process of making us fit to present offerings of righteousness...fit for God. But it is my prayer to be ALL God desires me to be. In the words of Travis Cottrell's song...
Do it, Lord, do it...
Come, New Testament.
Come, dispensation of Grace.
Come, Messiah.
Come, the Christ.
Come, my Jesus...
I am so ready for Matthew, Mark, Luke and John...and on to Revelation!

Girls,
ReplyDeleteI'm not a part of your group but so enjoy reading "your hearts" from the posts you write. I will be praying from Alabama this weekend that God will overwhelm you all with His presence as you are together. In His presence is fullness of joy...asking for abounding JOY for you all.

There is a Sweet Sweet Spirit in this place at Rock Lake Ranch where I shared from Deuteronomy that God is faithful to a faithless people. I want to be on this blog everyday and yet life happens and I get in and out. Praise God for His Grace and Mercy over me and my String of Pearls that Grace me as I seek the LORD through His WORD.
ReplyDeleteI can't just keep it to one verse I must also go to Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man's heart, it is only the LORD's purpose that prevails.
I miss each of the Pearls who God has on assignment away from RLR just where they are and look forward to my time with them as we begin the New Testament on Oct 2.
This is a Song I must Sing.
