August 9 ... Isaiah 54 - 58 "We May Cry in Heartache but we live in Hope"

Look at how many times the prophet says that this is what God says.  A message from the Holy One. God, the Son, is saying:  "I am coming soon."  Until He comes, His Grace is with us, even in exile, in all our suffering.  We may cry in HEARTACHE, but we live in HOPE."  66 LL

Isaiah 54:6  ENORMOUS COMPASSION IS ON YOU EVEN IF YOUR MOUNTAINS WALK AWAY
For your Maker is your bridegroom, his name, God-of-the-Angel-Armies! Your Redeemer is The Holy of Israel.. You were like an abandoned wife, devastated with grief,  and God welcomed you back. Your Redeemer says:  "I left you, but only for a moment. Now, with enormous compassion, I'm bringing you back. 54:10 - "For even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces, My love won't walk away from you, My covenant commitment of peace won't fall apart." The God who has compassion on you says so.  54:12 - All your children will have God for their teacher.

Isaiah 55:6  \MY WORDS WILL NOT COME BACK EMPTY HANDED
Seek God while he's here to be found, pray to him while he's close at hand. 55:8 - God says:  "I don't think the way you think. The way you work isn't the way I work."
My Decree to you:  The words that come out of my mouth will not come back empty-handed. They'll do the work I sent them to do, they'll complete the assignment I gave them.

Isaiah 57:15  I PUT A NEW SPIRIT IN THE SPIRIT-CRUSHED, THE LOW-SPIRITED

A Message from the One Whose Name is Holy:  "I live in the high and holy places, but also with the low-spirited, the spirit-crushed, And what I do is put new spirit in them, get them up and on their feet again. For I'm not going to haul people into court endlessly,

Isaiah 58:2 - 9    BUSY BUSY BUSY V. BEING AVAILABLE TO YOUR FAMILIES
Face my family with their sins! They're busy, busy, busy at worship, and love studying all about me. To all appearances they're a nation of right-living people—law-abiding, God-honoring. They ask me, 'What's the right thing to do?' and love having me on their side. But they also complain, 'Why do we fast and you don't look our way? Why do we humble ourselves and you don't even notice?' "Well, here's why: "The bottom line on your 'fast days' is profit. The kind of fasting you do won't get your prayers off the ground.  "This is the kind of fast day I'm after:  to break the chains of injustice, free the oppressed, cancel debts. What I'm interested in seeing you do is:  sharing your food with the hungry, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. ... You'll call out for help and I'll say, 'Here I am.'  58:9 - I'll give you a full life in the emptiest of places...You'll be like a well-watered garden...If you honor it by refusing 'business as usual,' making money, running here and there— Then you'll be free to enjoy God!

  1. More favorite verses today. Isaiah does minister hope and unfathomable love. I will add just one more:
Is. 55:8-11 "I don't think the way you think. The way you work isn't the way I work." God's Decree. "For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think. Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don't go back until they've watered the earth, Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They'll do the work I sent them to do,they'll complete the assignment I gave them."

  2. Isaiah 57

"A Message from the high and towering God,
    who lives in Eternity,
whose name is Holy: "I live in the high and holy places,
but also with the low-spirited, the spirit-crushed, And what I do is put new spirit in them,
get them up and on their feet again."

God lives in Eternity. His name is Holy. I find comfort in that tonight. Trials come to those God call His children. He disciplines us to make us like Him. I am so glad that God gives us a New Spirit.
I'm listening to a cd study by James MacDonald about reaching out to those who have fallen away. Prodigals. I can hear the heart of the Father in these studies. God is ready to bring a work of revival into our land. Somehow, I feel like He is calling us to be ready at His Command. To go get the wanderer. It may not be a close loved one. It could be someone who used to sit next to you in church but has been gone for a while. Watch for people God sends your way that you have missed in church...or may be friends you know have fallen away. I feel God's Spirit moving in a new direction. Calling His children back to Him. Just like He is doing in these books of prophecy. Return to Him. He will put a New Spirit in us.

Softly and tenderly, Jesus is calling.
    Come home.
    Come home...
