August 10 ... Isaiah 59 - 63 "Love Pays Any Price to Bless Another"

"I do not cure your unholiness by overlooking or understanding it.  To overlook it would be to miss the spot on the x-ray that will destroy you.  To understand it in light of what you've suffered would be to excuse it.  I do not heal your selfishness by affirming your value.  I solve your deepest problem with My self-sacrificing, reconciling embrace that forgives all that is unholy within you."  What hope is given by the prophet Isaiah!  Faith to believe God is good in any circumstance. Love that pays any price to bless another both spring from hope.  66 LL

Isaiah 59:1-2  WRONGHEADED LIVES CAUSED THE SPLIT
God's arm is not too short.  God's ears are not stopped up.  There's nothing wrong with God; the wrong is in you.  Your wrongheaded lives caused the split between you and God....59:12 - Our wrongdoings pile up before you, God, our sins stand up and accuse us...Good is MIA, missing in action.
But You issue a decree in v. 20:  I'll arrive as Redeemer to those who leave their sins.  

 
Isaiah 60:2  GOD RISES ON YOU AT THE RIGHT TIME
God rises on you, His sunrise glory breaks over you. ... I've put you on your feet, towering and grand forever, a joy to look at! ...The runt will become a great tribe, the weakling become a strong nation. I am God.  At the right time I'll make it happen."


Isaiah 61:1  ANNOUNCING THE YEAR OF HIS GRACE
The Spirit of God, the Master, is on me because God anointed me. He sent me to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken, announce freedom to all captives, pardon all prisoners. God sent me to announce the year of his grace—and to comfort all who mourn, To care for the needs of all who mourn,give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes, messages of joy instead of news of doom, a praising heart instead of a languid spirit. Rename them "Oaks of Righteousness" planted by God to display his glory.  

Isaiah 62  A BRAND NEW NAME:  DELIGHT NOT REJECTED
You'll get a brand-new name straight from the mouth of God. You'll be a stunning crown in the palm of God's hand, a jeweled gold cup held high in the hand of your God. No more will anyone call you Rejected, and your country will no more be called Ruined. You'll be called Hephzibah (My Delight), and your land Beulah (Married), Because God delights in you and your land will be like a wedding celebration.
 
Isaiah 63:8  RESCUED AND CARRIED IN ALL MY TROUBLES
In all their troubles, he was troubled, too. He didn't send someone else to help them. He did it himself, in person. Out of his own love and pity he redeemed them. He rescued them and carried them along for a long, long time.

    I'm so thankful to be living in the "year of His Grace." (Is. 61:1) I have felt so convicted of unholy living in much of Isaiah, and like the prophet, when I look toward Pure Holiness, I am accutely aware of being "a man of unclean lips." His provision through Christ Jesus for the year of Grace and redemption restores hope that even I have a chance to do it better this day, to walk in Light, to draw near to the Holy, and reject the evil. God grant us the strength, show us the path, and give us obedient hearts. Your Arm is not too short. Touch us. In the Name of the Savior, Amen.

    Because God delights in you
    and your land will be like a wedding celebration.
    For as a young man marries his virgin bride,
    so your builder marries you,
    And as a bridegroom is happy in his bride,
    so your God is happy with you.

    Since I've failed so miserably in my marriages on earth, it's hard to believe it can be trusted to work in Heaven. It's hard to imagine Him happy with me.

    I'm claiming this one.

    "Because you got a double dose of trouble
    and more than your share of contempt, Your inheritance in the land will be doubled
    and your joy go on forever."

    Bev, I claim it for you, too.

    And I am just amazed that God redeemed me HIMSELF. He didn't send someone else. He came for me...

    I will never forget the day I felt Jesus calling me to himself. I was a little girl. But I could see him on that cross, dying for me.

    He became my Saviour that day. And I need Him every day to save me from my own sin and failures. He is faithful.

    Making Him Lord? As well as Saviour? He changes me every day. I am so very thankful that He is patient and longsuffering. I am not.

    Beautiful words in these chapters. Each one like a precious treasure. Thank you all my sweet pearls who share here. You bless me and encourage me. And challenge me.

    This place is like an oasis.
    This world is not my home.
    I must learn of Him.
    I must know Him.
    I must give Him my failures so that He can redeem.
