127 - "Strengthen Yourself in the Lord Your God" 1 Samuel 30-31; Luke 24:1-35

127 Strengthen yourself in the Lord when your father-in-law and your children betray you---and the city wants to stone you for keeping them in war. How do I talk to myself? Will it be words like Psalm 18:28 Either we are moving toward dependence on Him or distance from Him.
Is it a court compliment or a Divine word?

Saul slew his thousands; David slew tens of thousands.
1 Samuel 29:5
So, who is proven?
Of men or God?
Did David "cave in" to Achish?
One thing David did right.

And the people were "bitter in soul" for their own sons and daughters. And how I love David's response. May it become our holy privilege: "David strengthened himself in the Lord, his God." I Samuel 30:6. That's it!!! How do I talk to myself? What will I say to myself this day? Either I will move toward dependence or distance.

"Those who have the knowledge of Christ crucified, should seek to spread that knowledge. Our Lord Jesus reproved them for the weakness of their faith in the Scriptures of the Old Testament. Did we know more of the Divine counsels as far as they are made known in the Scriptures, we should not be subject to the perplexities we often entangle ourselves in."  Perplexities of Life. Luke 24:14. They engaged each other to know Him more. And where two are gathered, here He comes.
