I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I will drive him like a peg into a firm place; he will become a seat of honor for the house of his father. All the glory of his family will hang on him... Isaiah 22:22-24
Those who are called to power should rule with dignity and delight. Gill's Commentary says they should be like fathers and mothers to those under their rule. How beautiful is that? If we use people for our ministry advantage, we may look good on paper but our hearts have missed on our purpose on this earth.
"The glory of this world gives a man no real worth or excellence; it is but hung upon him, and it will soon drop from him." We may be important and die a noble death like The Parade of a President. Or we may die a pauper, unknown to many. Yet we are all the same. All answer not for earth's achievements. Our faith must be hung on Christ and not on any man.
God fastened him as a nail. Isaiah 22:23. He put in my husband's hands the power to lead His church. Today. Dad stands. Established. Speaks well. The support the congregations needed. And our family needs. And this spike will be strengthened by each of you and your prayers. And the church will be contrived to strengthen its walls by the binding of its people together. And we all hang on that nail. And the nail-scarred Hands.
Praying for the strength that only come from the One Who has called us to lead.
PHOTO: A few days after the Great Divide in our lives that nearly wiped me out---but no. His faith still hung on Christ. And so did ours.
