SONG OF SOLOMON Take-Aways

HOLY LOVE
There is no mention of God in the book of the Song of Solomon. There is no cross reference in the New Testament. There's a beautiful cross ref in Psalm 45:1-17, a wedding song. Verse 1: "My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king."

So, what is the point of this Song of Solomon? It sounds like true love, such mutual devout affection.

The words unfold a song of love with a waiting God awakening and arousing our desires to know Him fully.

A friend of mine once told me: Every moment of your life is perfectly tuned in the Eternal Harmony. What music were these people listening to in their minds and hearts?

"Behold, you are beautiful, my love; behold, you are beautiful!" Song of Solomon 4:1                           "You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride; you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes." Song of Solomon 4:9

An inviting story. One commentator wrote this about the book: "When we apply ourselves to the study of this book, we must not only with Moses and Joshua "take off our shoes from our feet" because the place where we stand is holy ground, but we must also with John "come up hither" and spread our wings, take a noble flight, and soar upwards til by faith and holy love we enter into the holiest---for this is no other than the house of God and this is the gate of heaven." Matthew Henry
