Be gracious to me, O LORD.
For to You I cry all day long.
Make GLAD the soul of Your servant,
For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call.
Give ear Lord to my prayer;
And give heed to my voice!
In the day of my trouble I shall call upon You,
You will answer me.
There is no one like You among the gods, God
No works like Yours.
Incline Your ear, O Lord, and answer me;
For I am afflicted and needy.
Preserve my soul.
Look down with favor as you hear my prayer.
Psalm 86 is a prayer David prayed again and again.
We are all defective pray-ers. Misguided. Misjudged.
Yet, David was more concerned about his soul.
May our souls prosper.
May I be more concerned about speaking the words.
Psalm 122 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Live in peace. I am very aware that I must be more concerned about how I am impacting other people than how they are impacting me this day, this week, and forever.
PHOTO: Lady Byrd Lake. As I run around this Town Lake, may I be more concerned about my soul prospering to impact others than I am concerned about what is happening to me on this lake of life.
