5 - "Live to Cover Not Expose" Genesis 8-9; Psalm 12

 "God Remembered" ...

We are a remembered tribe. We may have forgotten about Him in the past 24 hours of difficulties or double hearts (Psaml 12:2). But, He has not forgotten us. God remembers ...

Three brothers & their families shuttered with their dad and mom 364 days.  Two brothers very loyal.  But the journey ends and they dock that ark and worship. Then it happens--- Ham exposes his dad in a very unbecoming situation. Noah drank too much wine. * Genesis 9:23 * Two sons covered their dad's sin. The dad who was perfect in the generations slipped backwards. It was just one night but a night of revealing for dads and sons. Did Noah give in after being shut in one year on an ark with 2 loyal sons and 1 distant from God. Do we live to cover the offenses of others? Or, do we live to expose like Ham? often think of a situation where Barrett could have exposed a story for his own gain but he left it lay on the table.  It was and still is a monumental moment for me.

If I drop a piece of info into the right slot, would it be morally right?  Do I live by morals alone?

"Here is the rub: one must be more zealous to please God than to avoid sin. One's obedience to God must be forward-oriented and zealous and free, and to be a mere moralist or pietist would make such a life impossible." Eric Metaxas. Oh! God, please give us strength to prepare the way to truly live free and let You move in. Matthew 3:3 It's not about doing but about being.

Praying this: We need You, Holy Spirit, to help us this year prepare the way for our Lord. May we all live to cover and not to expose. May we be more concerned about our unholy value system than we are about all the disappointments and disasters and disadvantages happening in our daily lives.
