October 8 "Communion Is Not Experience nor Blessings" Matthew 15:11

"This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me.
In vain do they worship Me." Matthew 15:8.
"In the world you now inhabit,
communion with Me is not defined by an experience of Me.
Nor does it depend on blessings from Me.

To really live is to release my son's life through yours, in any circumstance, no matter what you feel, to relate as He related,
giving when no one gives back, loving when no one returns love,
forgiving when no one deserves forgiveness...". 66LL
So, what do I do when my heart is "away" in my own hankerings,
my own hurts, my own harbors.

We live in a community that honors him with their lips
but He is looking longing for hearts to draw us into Himself.
Not what we "do" is the true question but what pours "out."
"It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man,
but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man."
Matthew 15:11

What does it profit you if you gain the whole world and lose your soul?
What is the profit if I gain what is in my hand or what I hope to hold?
May our living and loving be in communion with God not for experiences or blessings but for the pouring out of the Goodness of God.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 50:2 ~ Perfect in Beauty is the God Who pours out of us.
Psalm 27:14 ~ Wait on God, not on an experience to evaluate nor any blessing to formulate. Help us, O God, wait on You not man nor blessing.

  1. "But who do you say that I am?"

This is the question from the mouth of Jesus that we all must answer. Not what we do for Him. Not what our traditions and church teaches Who He is. Not what we profess with our lips even, but what we deep in our soul believe. It's a heart matter.

Who is the Christ to me?

We all must decide for ourselves if He is Lord of our lives or we will serve another. Let us determine His Lordship over our lives once and for all, renouncing all other idols that we may live in communion and newness of life.

Ps 63:1 "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee."

  2. Who is He? The Messiah, God in Flesh Who came to save all, or have I made Him into my image? Show me Lord where I do not allow You - The Christ to reign in my life.
