FIRST THINGS ~~~ There are 15 terribly important things on my TO DO list. I wrestled today to make sure that there is One Thing more needful than awfully important. Getting good to my soul. Living well for my Lord. Finding His favor. O my soul. "Only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her." Luke 10:42.
GRACE ~~~ Sometimes, I feel that people are just waiting to catch me being wrong, saying the wrong thing, . . . I don't know. We are going to be wrong; we are going to let people down. This I do know: This verse in Luke 11:54 encourages me to trust that the Holy Spirit will give me rest as I repent in any wrongdoing. They were: "...plotting against Him to catch Him in something He might say."

Are my desires for God stronger than my desires to be satisfied in this life?
May the One Thing Necessary lay beneath every intent and purpose of our hearts this day and always.
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
O Father, I pray ~
One Thing I ask of You, this is what I seek,
that I may dwell in Your House, all the days of my life,
to gaze upon Your Beauty,
to seek You.
First Things.
Psalm 27:4-6

Busy, busy. We get caught up. Life demands. Days are short. Lists are long. I had one of those weeks last week and barely prayed, barely sat still, barely took a minute to be grateful. Late in the week, I started feeling a quivering in my mouth and tightness in my throat. It's familiar to me now. Anxiety crept in. I knew I needed to slow down.
ReplyDeleteGod is saying to me (and to most Americans) s-l-o-w down. Prioritize. Very little is necessary and only One Thing is important. Be about the One Thing more and the thousand things fall into place.
Praying with you, Bev from Psalm 27:4-6: O Father, I pray~ One Thing I ask of You, this is what I seek, that I may dwell in Your House all the days of my life, to gaze upon Your Beauty. To seek You. First Things. Amen.
Amen Bev!
ReplyDeleteWoe to you Pharisees...Lord if there is any hint of Pharisee in me - stun it right out of me. I do not want to be legalistic, I want to be a vessel You can use to advance Your Kingdom.
