September 6 "Stand in the Battle" Ezekiel 23:15-16

Stand in the Gap
so that Others may Stand in the Battle
Ezekiel 23:15-16 ~ I wept a tear when I read that they saw pictures of their leaders on the wall---good-looking officers---and sent lewd messages to them to entice, intrigue, invite.  We live in a such a celebrity society where we throw ourselves in front of the good-looking from actors to ministers so that we will be noticed.  Our own lusts fed.  God, purge us from following the ways of this world.

Let us follow the example of men who have walked before us and followed You fully.  Just like Ezekiel, of whom you spoke in Ezekiel 24:15-16 :  "Son of man, behold, I am about to take from the desire of your eyes with a blow, but you shall not mourn..."  And Ezekiel, I'm sure with much turmoil and terror and silent tears, said "yes" to God and His Will.  Ezekiel, the one who stood in the gap for many was now in the middle of his own gaping wound.  And he allowed God to be his God.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Father, you send judgment where this is no repentance, where we defiantly live for whatever it is that becomes first things to us.  Harlotries.  Idolatries.  May we listen this day to Your Words so that no blows may befall us.  And just as Moses stood in the gap, so that others could stand in battle, may we see more clearly and with conviction of how we can stay in that gap for them.Psalm 106:23
"God tries words before he comes to blows."  Treasury of David

  1. Lord, show us any sin in our lives we have not confessed, any area in which we have stubbornly not submitted to You. We cannot stand in the gap for loved ones and our nation if we have not truly repented. We want to turn to You and You alone. In Jesus' Name we pray.

  2. I believe that He is calling and going to continue to call many prayer warriors to stand in the gap for those around us and our nation, which so desperately needs prayer. Our leaders have NO clue aside from Almighty God as to the right course of action and they do not appear at all to even have a nodding acquaintance with Him. I am in total agreement with Annette....for Him to show us (mainly me)any sins I have not confessed and any thing that I do not realize is sin so that I may stand in the gap for my loved ones, my church and then my country.
