I am humbled by my personal inadequacies.
Totally taken by a Most High God Who has called us before birth.
I stumbled at this spot this weekend in total need of him for my next breath.
He is with me.
I matter.
God calls Jeremiah to be a prophet. This young boy already was intimately acquainted with the One Who knew him through and through. Makes me want to be all the more acquainted with the Unseen One, in my secret closet, the Safest Place on Earth. His Calling. Come Jeremiah and be who I have called you to be, the one that will be sure to bear out the Name of your LORD. Oh, to live this day bearing true to the Sweet Name above all Names. The One Who formed me in the womb, knew me then, before I was born, consecrated then, appointed, called. And to every modest reason we muster up of why we could not possibly speak or see or go or do, God says: "Everywhere I send you, you shall go, and all that I command you, you shall speak. I am with You." Jeremiah 1:7-8. And that is what really matters. "Only when our relationship with God becomes more important than anything the world has to offer, will we really feel and live as if our life genuinely does matter. Why? Because we matter to Him!" (quote from Larry Crabb
I have put My Words in your mouth. Jeremiah 1:9
I am watching over My Word to perform it. Jeremiah 1:14
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 91:9 Dear God, please reveal in deep ways this day how we can make You, the Most High, our home. Not this world. Not what pulls at our hearts. You. Our Home.
I pray I speak His words today and not my own.
ReplyDeleteThat verse-"I am watching over My Word to perform it" stood out to me. So comforting to know our God is a Constant, faithful to complete what He has spoken in these sacred words we read each day here. When everything else betrays, God remains.
ReplyDeleteHe reminds us,
"Return, faithless Israel,declares the Lord;
‘I will not look upon you in anger.
For I am gracious,’ declares the Lord;
‘I will not be angry forever.
‘Only acknowledge your iniquity,
That you have transgressed against the Lord your God."
This is a word for my heart each morning. Return, faithless Annette. Acknowledge. You have sinned against God. Not just man, not just yourself. He welcomes us back, not in anger but huge and faithful mercy. He says "Return to Me, and I will return to you."
