July 31 "Expect Victory" Isaiah 14:4

The Work of Your Fingers.
May we learn better how to live in humility not pride.
Isaiah 14:4 - The LORD will give rest from the pain and turmoil. Expect victory. Babylon was a noble city. A proud city. And people changed. Evil reigned. Pride fell hard. "Give diligence to obtain a kingdom which cannot be moved; and in this hope let us hold fast that grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear." Hebrews 12:28.

The LORD is coming to help desolate Babylon. The LORD comes to help every one of us. "Expect Victory." Because He has come, we have victory over every enemy of our souls. So, what is the point here? No matter where we've been, what we've done, God moves to give us rest. God moves to give us Himself. And are we open? What is it that we do not understand about the movement of God, the Love of God.

"God's Love makes people holy. Only those who know they are unholy, who hate their unholiness more than their pain and emptiness, experience the transforming power of God's Love. Only holy people live well. Only holy people love." 66LL

Do I hate my unholiness more than my pain?
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Our prayer today is from Psalm 8. May we see like David did.
LORD, You are majestic in all the earth.
When I consider the heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars which You have set in place,
what is mankind that your are mindful of all of us,
human beings, that you care so for us?
May we humble ourselves this day in awe of Your Majesty.

  1. Christians wake up, be humble and holy unto the Lord.

  2. Judgment is coming. Does this not affect us? When did we as a nation, as a people, as individuals stop fearing the Lord?

As Christians in the Word, we must not let familiarity to the Word take away any of its impact. If Jesus hanging on a cross for me doesn't take my breath away, it's time to check what that complacency means.

Beautiful words in Isaiah 14:1-3 and a promise for those of us who are not Israel, but grafted into the beautiful Plan.

"strangers will join them (Israel) and attach themselves to the house of Jacob. The peoples will take them along and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them as an inheritance in the land of the Lord as male servants and female servants; and they will take their captors captive and will rule over their oppressors. And it will be in the day when the Lord gives you rest from your pain and turmoil and harsh service in which you have been enslaved..."

Judgment will be harsh and swift and thorough, but there's a beautiful place of refuge for God's chosen ones. All evil will be judged, purged, and taken care of once and for all. And He will give His beloved rest from pain and turmoil and slavery.
