We can act on our conscience and still be wrong. Soothe our own guilt. Become our own authority. Take life in our own hands. Judges 21:25. ~ In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes ~ Is not that true for this day too?
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Idolatry isn't confined to walls and windows.
Idolatry is anything above or below that interrupts our relationship with our Maker.
God wants to change our motives not just our behavior. What stirs deep within. Not to make us right but to make us holy. What do long for more than our relationship with Christ. The Israelites mourned the loss of the Benjamite women. May we be more concerned about our relationship with Christ than what we find on this earth. What truly consumes me. Oh God. We are all guilty of idolatry. Help us this day to find a Glad Surrender. PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Today's scripture is so painful I could hardly bear to read it. From the concubine to the Benjamites, it hurts.
