Why is it we wait on man instead of waiting on God?
H.e.r.e. --- in these verses --- the Israelites wait 40 days for the return of these spies when they could have entered Canaan under their God's Good Hand, under His Divine Power. But no, they could not trust the One Who displayed miracle after miracle showing them the way. What about you and me?
They distrusted the Power and the Promise. This land they found was as good as God said it was. Caleb and Joshua both encourage the people to Move Forward. Let's go up and possess it. They didn't have to go conquer a thing---it was already done for them. The same in our lives. We feel we have to conquer when God is calling us to possess. What God promises, He makes possible. With our eyes, we magnify the barriers, the barricades. We make it look insurmountable. And we look like grasshoppers in the land of giants.
We walk by faith not by sight. Let us Move Forward and possess the Promises of God, not for a better land but for a better heart.
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 105:15 When we move forward, O God, please do not allow any oppression on our lives. Thank you that you have anointed each of us, touched our lives forever, with Goodness and Kindness and Promises for a better heart for each of us. Help us move forward this day and possess what You have already done.
OVERVIEW: Numbers 11-13

Do I see the manna or the misery? Do I see giants or a Promised Land? Are grumblings and fear my life's theme? Or are gratitude and overcoming strength in the Lord?
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't mean oppression is optional, just our attitude to it. We can choose to be confident in Christ.
Faith trumps fear every time. Faith fills us with gratitude. Faith in the Lord brings the victory!
1 John 5:4-5
"for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God!"
Today we see everything humanity has to offer: greed, complaining, jealousy, fear, and a man who said let us go for it, we will overcome them. One man did not feel like a grasshopper, one man knew he was empowered by Yaweh.
ReplyDeleteMy hope is I know it is not in my strength and power, but His. I will not walk in fear but faith. I will not be timid but bold in the Good News of Jesus Christ.
