Psalm 90: 12 -17 Oh! Teach us to live wisely and well!
Surprise us with Love at daybreak.
God ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they'll catch you.
"Listen to your life. All moments are key moments."
Whatever we face this day: pain or rain, loneliness or connections...
there's a quote from Frederick Buechner that touches deep parts in me...
"Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery that it is.
In the boredom and pain of it no less than in the excitement and gladness:
Touch, Tase, Smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it
because in the last analysis, all moments are key moments, and
Life itself is grace." Am I listening to my life today?
where did June go???
ReplyDeleteJust a few more days...do you need anything for Blair's wedding? I will call you.
ReplyDeleteAnybody weary? “All we can remember is that frown on your face. Is that all we're ever going to get?...Trouble. Toil and trouble and a marker in the graveyard.”
ReplyDeleteDo you need a refuge? “You who sit down in the High God's presence, spend the night in Shaddai's shadow, say this: "God, you're my refuge. I trust in you and I'm safe!"
Anyone need rescuing? “If you'll hold on to me for dear life," says God, "I'll get you out of any trouble. I'll give you the best of care if you'll only get to know and trust me. Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times; I'll rescue you, then throw you a party.
Need hope? “I'll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!"
Anyone desperate for a little strength? “Such witnesses to upright God! My Mountain, my huge, holy Mountain.”
How about justice? God, put an end to evil; avenging God, show your colors! Judge of the earth, take your stand; throw the book at the arrogant.”
Looking for sound advice? “Drop everything and listen, listen as he speaks…”
Do you want joy? “Come, let's shout praises to God, raise the roof for the Rock who saved us! Let's march into his presence singing praises!”
All these treasures are found in just one day of reading His Word. I love starting my day right here. I feel fortified to face the challenges each day brings with remembering my beautiful God stands with me through every detail.
It's July 1st and I'm thinking I need to start memorizing Scripture for the final 6 months of 2010. This one should work perfectly...

Bev, Oh my goodness! You must be SO busy getting ready! I can't believe you can still find time for your Plan A. You inspire me!
Love,

I've had a friend visiting me from Canada all week and she just left today. Her visit was going to be last week but it got moved to this week. Also we just had Britt's college orientation and registration this week. And I'm sure there's something else I've been doing that I'm not remembering. I leave tomorrow for the wedding. Pray for Blair, the bride---she has some loose ends that need to come together. She's always very patient and easy to please so I hope we can all pull the wedding off smoothly as it was done long distance. My surgical oncologist today said that I'll deal with some pain for the rest of my life---just part of having that kind of surgery. The results of the visit came out fine and within a normal range. And the growth on my face is benign and infected but hardly noticeable. I also have an unexplained allergic reaction like hives all over my body---every day a few new spots crop up. Medicine seemed to help but have only been on it for 24 hours. It's not that bad, only it itches like crazy and as long as they are not on my face, you don't notice anything. Ha. Thanks SO MUCH for praying for our family. We are doing well. But I do have to find a wedding dress for ME...yikes...I went looking tonight after my friend left and ended up in tears cause everything was so expensive. I'm going to look in Dallas and will find something there. Thanks so much for being such a support. If there are any days I forget and don't post in the next week, you know why...
ReplyDeleteBev, Annette, Ang,
ReplyDeleteYou all bless me with your comments.
Yes, I praise God for the Grace He has, presently is and will place in my life.
As I listen to my life, I am grateful for much Grace my Heavenly Father has Graced me with.
Bev, praying for you as Blair's wedding day is so close and I'm sure a few details to process.
Grace and Peace to you,
Sylvia
