Read with me cover-to-cover. 2024. Share what I've learned in the dark, in the light. Start the Old & on January 1st. About 3 chapters per day. About 15 minutes of your day. Join us as the "axe of Biblical Love thaws the frozen parts" (66LL) in our hearts. My focus this year is sharing what God has done for me over the years---and trusting God to weave every single day.
Every word in today's reading is full of life and drama and surprise and justice! Esther 10 is like the oil of anointing, healing and showing honor.
I love the way The Message says "the brilliance of Mordecai" in Esther 10.
I've always searched in this book for Jesus. He is in this book! Aaron Jeffrey sang that He Is the Courage of Mordecai. I don't know. I just know I can feel His presence as I read this book.
Even when we can't see Him in our situations, we can feel His Presence all around us. And sometimes we have to act on our faith without knowing how huge our situation really is.
Esther was a critical player in this salvation of the Jews. She honored God by seriously taking her call and allowing God to use her. She had other options. But she was called by God for a unique time and purpose in Plan A.
She asked the king for things that puzzle me. She could have had half the kingdom, but she wanted Haman's 10 sons who were already dead hung on the gallows prepared for her people.
I can just imagine how the Jewish people must have looked up at those bodies and been amazed how the tables had turned on Haman's evil plan.
Pur...the lot...it fell alright. It fell because God intervened in His people's greatest need.
