Eight billion people saw the sun light up the world this morning.
Christ is the Light of the World.
He lights 8 billion today
and all those who have ever lived.
A Metaphor.
"I am the Light of the World;
He that follows Me shall not walk in darkness."
Even in our darkest moments, Light shines.
John 8:12.
There have been times … when I thought I could cry forever. But I haven’t done it … The living can’t quit living because the world has turned terrible … They can’t because they don’t. The light that shines in darkness and never goes out calls them on into life … into the world, into whatever the world will require.
Indeed, Light did shine for the woman caught in adultery.
The Light of the World searches and shines
To show her Mercy
To show her accusers their sin.
She calls Him LORD.
Do we do that in our sin?
Continue in My Word,
and you will know the Truth,
and the Truth shall make you free.
John 8:32
Christ offers a freedom from the bondage of sin.
He has power, the Energy, to do this.
Today, in Chapel,
a POW spoke of that freedom from sin.
He said:
"To forgive is to set the prisoner free,
only to find out you were the prisoner."
Lt. Tim McCoy
The woman caught in adultery slipped away
Free from the shame.
Free from herself.
Free to follow.
