God listens to Elijah - I Kings 17:22
And, Elijah witnessed breath poured into the son.
Elijah listens to God - I Kings 19:13
And, Elijah found God in the "low whispers."
The common natural way of providing for the earth---rain.
It dried up.
The uncommon Providential way of providing for Elijah---ravens.
Never dried up.
Do I realize that the Providential Hand of God is moving in uncommon ways in my life this very day?
The vilest of creatures took care of Elijah, not the kings.
And Elijah was on a shelf for more than a year
The man who could breathe life into sons.
Patiently waiting on a Good God!!!
Eating from mouths of birds.
Trusting God's timing.
Under the Care.
Such a moving story to know God uses the lowly widow. She took Elijah at his word even before feeding her own family in famine. And that one act opened the jar for Elijah to feed the widow's family for more than two years.
COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Oh Father, Psalm 46:4 says that there is a river whose streams make glad the city of God. Ever running water. The Living Water refreshes and consoles all our days. May we know it deeply today as we face difficult moments that Your Low Whispers may be heard loud. Your overflowing water all over our parched lives. We need you so!
PHOTO: Rain fills this dried up creek in the Hill Country. God fills our dry hearts with everlasting hope and joy.
Read with me cover-to-cover in 2025. Start the Old & New Testaments together on January 1. About 3 chapters per day. About 15 minutes of your day. Join us as the axe of Biblical Love thaws the frozen parts (66LL) in our hearts. My focus in 2025 is counseling yourself from the Word. We average 60,000 thoughts per day. Take courage. Talk to yourself from Truth. I am more emotional and pensive and overly-sensitive than most. I need to know how to truly live.
