Our circumstances are before each of us.
Every single day, every single moment.
"On what do you rest this trust of yours" 2 Kings 18:19
On Whom? On What, Hezekiah?
Rabshakeh's rhodomontade rhetoric is riveting.
* Your military men are no match for my multitude
* Your alliance with Egypt is no better than a bruised reed
* Your interest in God will not cut it---He is not going to deliver you
Wonder what kind of things we are being told
that matches this mantra?
Things like ...
*Your personna, your words are no match to others
*Your friends are of no help, little care
*Your passion for God is getting you nowhere
*You are not appreciated, applauded, esteemed or sought after *You are not going to get what you want
Oh what braggadocious banter.
"They held their peace."
For Hezekiah and his men knew that
the last word had not been written and
they were being held In His Love and Care
May we all hold our peace against a world
throwing words, hurling looks, conniving actions, creating distance like daggers in our hearts. We all receive of His Fullness, meaning everything in His Power.
John 3:30 - He must increase. You must decrease. May your lives be a sermon of John 3:30. Your calling merged into the Greater Story. Your sure calling. Now, this is just Mimi saying this --- I hope Tracer is a pastor who takes up the biblical passages of Divine praise and self-depletion as he prepares the way of the Lord to human hearts. He will be a shepherd no matter what his calling. May you all find and unveil a Beautiful God living in you.
By His Power. Hold Your Peace when your balloons fly away.
