February 4 "Bridled Appetites" Leviticus 11-13

The priests had been given laws to follow.
Now, the people are given laws---that they may be holy and live holy lives.

"That by bridling their appetite in things in themselves lawful, and some of them very desirable, they might be better prepared and enabled to deny themselves in things simply and grossly sinful."  John Wesley

"And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron,
to tell the people..."  Leviticus 11:1

DEAR GOD, PLEASE CHANGE ME IN ONE OF MY 10,000 MOMENTS:  All I can deal with is myself.  I cannot change anyone else.  Only by the enabling power of your Holy Spirit.  Change us all.  For we are dead to the law and alive to You.  And how beautiful to hear that bridling appetites produce in us a greater weight of grace.  Not be doing.  Just by being.
In love with You.  In obedience to Your Word.
Under the Mercy.  Under the Grace.
