The administration of the Grace of God is through you and me. We have been given this face of grace through revelation of a mystery. And may you not lose heart at the troubles.
For this cause I bow my knees that God would grant you, according to His riches,
that you may be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inward man.
That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
To the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints
what is the width and length and height and depth,
and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge.
Eph 3:16-19
Oh that Christ dwells in us---fixated on Him not just a flash of brilliance.
But a sense of being fully known and loved by God, no matter what.
That sighing inside that whispers: "I am so loved by God."
And, Oh!, the dimensions of His Redeeming Love.
Matthew Henry writes:
"By the breadth of it, we may understand
the extent of it to all ages, nations, and ranks of men.
By the length of it, its continuance
from everlasting to everlasting.
By the depth of it, its stooping to the lowest condition,
with a design to relieve and save those who have sunk
into the depths of sin and misery.
By the height, its entitling and raising us up
to the heavenly happiness and glory."
COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Oh Father, these dimensions of Your Love are beyond words. The breadth extended to the very place we live from ages ago. The length looming long continuing from everlasting to everlasting. The depth stooping to my soul for those of us sunk, the height soaring us all to heavenly happiness. These words of a theologian are so rich. Make them real in us.
