September 3 "Idolatry" Ezekiel 22, 23

These verses are so real, so hard, so true.  God gives us over to ourselves if we do not surrender.  May we bow before the Mighty One in humble honor, adoration, and love.

“For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will deliver you into the hands of those whom you hate, into the hands of those from whom you turned in disgust." Ezekiel 23:28.

We all deal with arrogance.

COME BOLDLY:  Timeless Prayers
Father, forgive us!  May we turn our eyes to You.  Revive us in your ways.

PHOTO: Bridge over troubled waters. Troubles come to all but our arrogance creates so much more trouble.

  1. Hard words of judgment. Lord, our world, our country, our own hearts have turned to idols. Many of us are harlots, not servants. Purify our hearts to get rid of the dross, the distractions, the disgust. We are so blind sometimes to our own mess within. And sometimes, Lord, I confess that I don't even have the desire to want to change. I can't but You can. Give us the desire and the strength to clean house. The junk clogs up the pipeline, the prayerline to You. Clear away all that stuff that keeps us from You. When You tell us, "This is the Way. Walk in it," help us to respond with full obedience, to fully turn away from sin, and fully turn toward You. We need You so desperately. In the Power of the Name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
