God reminded Jehu, the newly appointed king over Israel by God's Hand, that He was persevering his worship. And, God commanded Jehu to destroy the house of Ahab. Jehu moved in faith, "eager in spirit." May we move quickly, the same, on matters of dire importance. All the while, Jezebel continued to worship idols. She showed no fear. Just true grit. "She painted her eyes and adorned her head." She mocked the face of God saying: "Is it peace" coming to me? It's you, Jehu! 2 Kings 9:30. No hiding from God for Jezebel; she looked Divine vengeance straight in the face. And Jehu calls for help. And everyone must ask in the face of reformation, if we really can side with it? Jezebel's attendants decided they could not and she was put to death by her very own. On grave matters, who sides with us? Let all fall that is God's will. The Lord is on our side and we can, we won't ever switch.
COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Dear Father, may we know deeply the moorings of our own faith. May we throw out the Anchor of our soul and not move in matters from God. Vengeance belongs to You, O God. May we find you in the face of reformation and not waiver.
