A beautiful metaphor.
God's Hand is not too short to lend,
His ear not too dull to hear,
But ... it's about your sin.
If there is any breech, the problem is me, my heart.
If we do not see His Hand,
If we do not hear His Word,
If we do not experience His Life,
it's not because of God's Heart to help and hear and rescue and redeem.
One commentary says it this way:
"See here sin in true colors, exceedingly sinful;
see here sin in its consequences, exceedingly hurtful,
separating from God, not only from good but to evil." M. Henry
If there is no joy, no peace, this day, just distance,
it means I have moved.
COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Dear Father, this is such a Beautiful Image of your reaching down, stooping, offering your hand, bending your ear to my living room. May I see this today? May I stop the demandingness of my own heart for a break. May I leave this thing I deal with on your lap? Like Hezekiah did. Like Isaiah. In quietness and confidence, may our rest and repentance be in You not solutions. Isaiah 30:15

Dear Mary Lou, Praying for you this morning as you undergo your heart surgery--that all goes smoothly, that God guides the hands of the surgeon and grants wisdom to the team attending you. I pray for your peace throughout, complete and speedy healing, and comfort throughout! Love and hugs to you, dear friend, Annette
