April 6 "We Need His Motives" Judges 19-21

Judges 21:25 "In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes."

Do we really see that being with God is our greatest blessing, no matter what else may be happening in our lives?  Doing what we think is right may not be dependence on God.  How easily I mistake "blessings" for "love." "You and everyone else are inclined to depend on God for the good life of blessings and to mistake that dependence for love." 66LL

And so the book of Judges ends but the message trembles on. "Trust My Love even when life is unspeakably hard. That's why Jesus Christ made possible when the soldiers were pounding spikes into His hands and feet. His motives are now in you." 66LL

And t.h.a.t. is just unbelievable. Unbelievably good!

COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Father, Would you do what only You can do. You have to get in me and pour Your Life into mine because I need your Motives deep inside of all I do. Reveal how we all use You for what we really want. Well-intentioned prayers with motives gone awry. I am in awe that because of Good Friday, Your Motives are now in me!
With Love & Gratitude, Trusting Your Love!

PHOTO:  A far-away country.  Where people think they can do whatever is right in their own eyes. Even our own country.  God help us all see where we are misguided with well-designed intentions to have our own way.
