March 23 "The Presence of God" Joshua 1-4

The LORD immediately says to Joshua, after the death of Moses, "I will not leave you or forsake you. What confidence God places in this young man who will replace the friend of God, Moses.     "Be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it... Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Josh 1:7-9. And here is the Promise to Joshua---this is how you can know that God will use you.

The unabated Moses is quite the elder of the undaunted Joshua.  Joshua receives this calling as he witnesses the death of the man who ran everything.  Joshua saunters in faith across the floor of the Jordan---the place where his Redeemer will be baptized.  No way for Joshua to know that.  The only history they have is of Moses and Egypt and the Red Sea.  And a very Present God with Moses ---     Who will now be with Joshua.  A Very Present Power promising His Presence and Strength, Joshua 2:9

COME BOLDLY:  Timeless Prayers
O Father, to live like we know that You are with us wherever we go.  O, to live in such a way that this Word of the Law is our very life.  No idle words.  Just our life. O, to be so taken with God's Power that goes before us.  Joshua 2:9.  O, God, what beautiful words in Joshua 2:11 --- they melted hearts.

    Now God said to Joshua, “No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life…. I will be with you…. I will not fail you or forsake you.”

    And here is where I so often am wrong in my thinking. I focus on how I fail God. Yet to be free of fear, to move forward with success in my faith walk, I need to make a whole paradigm shift. He is faithful to never fail me. His Arm is not too short to rescue me in my battles. He never forsakes--regardless of how I feel.

    Joshua 1:9 – “Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not tremble or be dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

    Thank You, Lord, for this and all Thy Blessings. You save us in this very moment and into forever. Thank You for the strength and courage that You give because of Your Love for us, wherever we go...wherever we are. Amen.

      Beautiful words, Bev! "Joshua saunters in faith across the floor of the Jordan--the place where his Redeemer would be baptized." Let's dip our toes in that water and watch the Wonders God will do for us this day!
