The same month that my dad died, I had just turned twelve years old, I walked the aisle of my church to say "I believe." I had attended confirmation classes for many weeks, talked about what it meant, and probably said the sinner's prayer a hundred times by that point. But I wanted a time and date where I could say definitively God saved me, a sinner, and adopted me as His Own. That spring of 1972 was the time, chosen from the beginning for me to have safe Arms to fall into.
ReplyDeleteMy story. And your story, too, chances are. Right when I needed a father, right when I felt more alone than any other time in my life, God was there to become my Abba Father. Adopted. And redeemed. And saved from more than I know.
All because of Grace.
Well, that brought tears to my eyes cause you're such a beautiful real person! And I love you so! Thank you for sharing that with us. Just loved the picture of it, the faith of it, the calling of God on your life~! Something so sacred about it.
DeleteAnnette, we are stuck in Salt Lake City or somewhere! Can you put up a blurb about the reading for this week. I ordered the book. We won't get home until tomorrow night, now. We didn't have assigned seats (evidently those who buy bulk tickets on Priceline are at the bottom of the totem pole). So, even though we were early to our connection, they didn't offer us a seat because we had "no assigned seat." No one was willing to take the $600 ticket offer with a hotel overnight. So, they gave us each $1300 in cash---I never heard of such! Plus hotel where I am typing. And 1st Class tickets at midnight---uh oh! And I'm finally rested and caught up in life. Hope I can sleep in First Class----never been there but once on an international flight to Thailand I got bumped to First Class---it was like a hotel. Thanks A!
