People are cruel sometimes. Life deals hard blows as the sun rises, even to Paul. There are times in all of our lives when God does not take away our troubles but leaves them in tact. Yet, God gives enough Grace to face what would have destroyed us.
"Grace signifies the goodwill of God towards us, and that is enough to enlighten and enliven us, sufficient to strengthen and comfort in all afflictions and distresses." His Strength is made perfect in our weakness. His Grace lives and multiplies in us. When we are weak, then we are strong in Grace.
Dear Friend, I've never felt so weak yet so strong. Go to Christ to receive from Him the Divine Power to war not according to your flesh but with Divine Power. I've never seen both of these verses together: 10:4 and 12:8. Warring in the flesh. II Corinthians 10:4. Warring in the Divine Power. Grace multiplying in our admitted weaknesses, signifying the goodwill of God to me to wake me up and get me back on my feet and strengthen me and comfort me where I sit this night.
And God says: "My Grace is sufficient for you, for Power is perfected in weakness." II Corinthians 12:8. Not in strength. Well-content was Paul---with weakness, insults, distress, difficulties. "For when I am weak, then I am strong." The Good Hand of God has been strong to us in so many ways, even difficulties.
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 118:15
"The Lord's Right Hand has done Mighty Things."
And we thank you, God, from the bottom of our hearts for Your Grace full of Strength & Power to face all of these difficulties in our lives. May we humble ourselves before you like Paul did. We need you so.
Truly one of the strangest mercies I've witnessed personally. When we are weak, and confess we can't but You can, we unleash the Grace sufficient for the difficulty. We receive God power to see us through and He can be glorified in the process. Peace pours into our despair, and Wisdom and Light invades the situation. Power to move or power to stay is given. Glory falls to the One Who deserves the credit.
ReplyDeleteMy friend is facing a pancreas biopsy this morning. She is asking for prayers such as this very verse this morning, for strength to face this and for healing. If you can, join me in a prayer for Connie this morning.
Stay warm, Pearls. It's Jesus Who keeps hearts warm. It's Jesus Who provides. "For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God ... Yes and Amen in Christ Jesus."
Just prayed for Connie. May you feel His presence and comfort today too. It is very cold here and about to get colder and ice on trees and power lines. Pray for all in the wake of this storm. And we are supposed to get more tomorrow night and Sunday. Usually clears up in a day or so...does not appear that way this time. Praying for the homeless and the less fortunate who will be cold without shelters. I am so blessed. Praying for Connie that His mercies are new every morning and that His grace will flood her soul.
DeleteThank you, Mary Lou. I join you in praying for all that have no place to stay or are susceptible to this cold, warm, for safety, for protection. We have to go to Houston tonight and are returning late this evening. We may change our minds and spend the night at a hotel if it starts to sleet. I will let you know when we hear about Connie but there probably won't be a report until next week. Always so difficult in the wait for medical results. I know she appreciates your prayers, as do I.
DeletePraying for you today, too, Mary Lou. I so love your heart. You express yourself and convey God's Love with each word.

ReplyDeleteGot word in Connie but it's not good. Please continue to pray for peace, for healing.
ReplyDeleteOh Annette! If you heard that fast, it's not good. I did not know this at the time, but when they did my biopsy, they already knew and were doing it to prepare for surgery. Oh! Oh! Oh! How I feel for this blistering news for Connie. Will certainly pray for her healing. Sunday is Chandler's memorial service. May God be glorified and my friend upheld by His Power. Carried through this. Deut 1:31.
ReplyDeleteThank y'all for your prayers. If you met her, she is the picture of good health. She is the kind of woman who works out and takes care of herself and and all of her family. Two months ago, she lost her dad after a very long illness and she was his caretaker. Now, they are waiting to see what type of cancer it is--the hope now is that it is treatable lymphoma and not pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver. We will know next week.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for Lisa and her family as they celebrate Chandler's life, and yes, may God be glorified and his family be upheld and comforted by Him. Blessings on you all in your loss. He is very near to the brokenhearted.
Really hard right here at Christmastime for such pain, such sadness. Makes me want to give my family a big hug and hold tight. Be carried, dear Bev.
