2Cor 1:8-9 "Burdened Beyond Strength" (August 26)

Utterly Burdened Beyond our Strength ...
That's how I feel at this juncture of life

Yet, I know it is a Good God who brought me here
That I may know a little more & more how to rely on Him.

It's no longer about pulling myself up by the bootstraps.
No more leading for recognition or affirmation or position.

Rely on the God Who raises the dead,
He's still raising dead places in me
In this broken heart of mine
Burdened Beyond Strength

Nothing Touches Me
Except By His Divine Plan
Thanking The God of the Resurrection
2 Cor 1:8-9

  1. We suffer to share in the sufferings of Christ so that God alone may be our comfort. Paul literally wanted to die because of his suffering but God literally raises the dead. We are called to pray for others to share the blessing of all the promises of God which find their yeses and amens in Him. We get to participate in the miracles of God through prayer.
"O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven or on earth, keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to your servants who walk before you with all their heart."

  4. Heavenly Father, I come before you with a thankful and expectant heart that You alone meet our needs. Help us to be about greater things than our own comfort, but give us the strength and vision to share Your Love, Your Hope, Your Grace to each person we come in contact with. Not one of us can do it in our own power, but by Your Spirit, we can, we will.

Each of us that come here have hearts full of things that hurt, things that we suffer through. You alone are our comfort. Help us to share each others' burdens here as we lay our hearts before You. Fill us again with Your Spirit that we can be Your Arms that hold and comfort, Your Feet that bring the Gospel of Peace, Your Heart that fills us with higher Love.

We praise You for You are Glorious in this place! And we love You so, dear Lord. Amen

Anyone with a specific request, please join us in praying for one another. Mine is for my children and their families' salvation and walking with the Lord.

  5. Bev, always praying for you. Mine this week is for my son and his hurting broken heart. He is allowing me to minister to him and I speak His truth...I have gone where angels fear to tread. I need God's wisdom and God's Word to give out.

Will add your children and families to my list Annette.

  6. I would appreciate prayers for my son (whose 26th birthday is today). He gets his Bar results this week. I'm not going to pray that he passes. I'll just pray for his peace when he opens the envelope (as per John's request; we talked about it at dinner before he drives back to NC). I'll also be praying for God's will in this next stage of life. God alone knows his future and I believe it is good! I'm thankful that God brought this amazing guy into my life. He brings me so much joy! I love being his mom.

I'll pray for all of our children. It breaks our hearts when their hearts are broken. I'll also pray they trust God through every stage of life.

I love this blog! It brings me so much comfort!
    xoxo
