God had been very quiet as kings ruled with iron fists and steel souls,
lording over their subjects-it was not right with God.
So, Amos speaks the words
Sovereign Power
“The Lord roars from Zion
and utters his voice from Jerusalem;
the pastures of the shepherds mourn,
and the top of Carmel withers.”
Amos 1:2
“Behold, I will press you down in your place . . .
The Sovereign Hand applies Pressure Suffering Disruption
to put us in our place . . .
A Place of Grace
“Do two walk together,
unless they have agreed to meet?
Amos 3:3
Are we waiting to hear from God or
is He waiting for us to come
Broken. Dependent. Humble. Needy.
God roars.
So committed to our holiness.
Will I agree to meet Him today?
Mike, I left a comment for you on yesterday's post. A whisper to God for you.
ReplyDeleteRadiologist found no tumor on my ultrasound. Found no tumor on my mammogram. G-O-N-E. You read it right. This doctor wants a second opinion because maybe it's hiding and needs to be biopsied. I smiled. I'll go for a second but I think The Great Physician is holding this one in check. The tumor is gone from their sight. I asked the question: "Where did it go?" You saw it the last several times---you were measuring it. God erased it.
ReplyDeletePraising God with you Bev!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lord, for Your faithfulness in my life. May I not forget to tell of it as well as praise You for it. (Amos 2:9-11)
Oh thank you Lord, for Bev's good report. Leaning hard into You the way she does must please You so. Thank you for faithfully seeing us through. There is none like You.
ReplyDeleteWent to see the Lion King last night and hadn't seen it in such a long time. There's a powerful message of life as its theme. Tears welled up as they sang and illustrated with dance and costume and set "The Circle of Life."
The Lord roars from Zion!
Blessed Thursday, everyone.
What a blessed report. Love, love your response. Loved what you wrote on FB too.
ReplyDeleteYour posts here every day are as though I'm reading a commentary. How they add to my reading of God's Word. How it opens my eyes and heart even further.
We are all blessed because God heard your cries and our pleading for you!
Hi Bev,
ReplyDeleteI saw "Hi Mike" and wondered who is this other Mike? I often read the blog early in the morning and don't see all the posts. Thank You for your message, I will be praying about that. Not sure what it means yet. I have been reading along quietly for a couple of years and do enjoy it very much. It is another way I can stay spiritually connected to my lovely wife.
God's timing is so amazing, I was planning on my first post today as we are driving 5 hours south to see my father in law Roy. We think he had another heart attack last night and the family is telling us it doesn't look good. He is a great Christian man and one of my role models. If he does go home we will greatly miss him but rejoice for his new life. Please pray for him, Jan and the family.
God Bless you and thank you for all you do.
Mike
