Walk and please God,
just as you are doing,
do so more and more ~ 4:1
Love one another,
do this more and more ~ 4:10
Aspire to live quietly
Mind your own affairs ~ 4:11
Be dependent on no one ~ 4:12
do so more and more.
I want to live way too loud
and make a difference
and leave a legacy
and be proactive
rather than leaving the results to God.
If I make something happen,
Who am I doing it for?
These verses are in context---
it is God at work in you!
Will I live quietly or live loud?
How do I aspire to live this day?
Distant, dreamy, detached, deliberate, demeaning or
Quiet Surrender, Solitude, Serenity to the Sovereign One.
"Go placidly amid the noise..." It's so noisy in our day-to-day lives. A moment ago I finally noticed a dripping faucet. I'm sitting on the back porch at the ranch. I was on my second cup of coffee and hadn't heard it to that point. So many distractions, so much interference. Even in the quietest place in my life...I couldn't hear or I wasn't listening...Living quietly is the challenge. Because it is in the stillness that God dwells.
ReplyDeleteJust one more thing that I love today:
ReplyDeleteMore and more...
The definition of sanctification to me is "more and more." Moving toward God, loving more and more purely, drawing my grace from the One who always give more.
So, that is my prayer for each of you today--more and more!
Aspiring to live quietly this day, safe...serene...in sanctification...and sure.
ReplyDeletemore and more...what a sermon that is to me today.
Annette, the prayers from Paul are like hearing blessings spoken over us. Thank you for all the prayers and thank you for touching Bev with your face-to-face fellowship. Bev, love you and respect you so much.
Jan, I pray this day that our heavenly Father, knowing already what is good for your family, will open doors for your husband. May He alone direct you and your lover to the place He is calling you. I pray that while you wait, your art will be a place of holiness where you meet with Him and become one with His Spirit. May He bless the works of your hands and bring blessings into your family beyond your ability to imagine. More and more...I pray these same words for Bob and Bev and any other families going through career challenges.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
Sylvia, I hear such peace in all of your comments. Peace and faith have been your Song. Much love to you this beautiful Lord's Day.
Ang,
ReplyDeleteThinking and praying for you this day. May the Beauty of the Lord rest upon you. May His Hands minister to your brother through you. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Many hugs,
Deborah
Mary Lou,
ReplyDeleteI love to read your comments and your heart is so full of Jesus. It just bubbles over when I read your thoughts. He just overwhelms me most days in the way He reveals Himself to me. And I know it's the same for you.
Love,
Deborah
