Acts 28:2 The native people showed unusual kindness to the shipwrecked sailors. They put on board whatever they needed. I want to live like that. Hospitable because of His Sobering Kindness.
In The Sacred Romance, John Eldridge writes about the six biblical metaphors that describe our relationship with God in ascending order: Potter/Clay ... Shepherd/Sheep ... Master/Servant ... Father/Child ... Befriender/Beloved. We should be ascending the scale but often get stuck in one relationship and miss our Waiting God.
Acts 28:15 ~ From Jerusalem to Rome in a multitude of months and monstrous storms...all the way! Paul fought the good fight of faith and moved in love not allowing the responses of people or circumstances to control him. He was constrained by the Love of his God. Paul's Potter, Shepherd, Master, Father, Friend, Lover was beside him working through centurions and sailors and island governors and local leaders. Do I know Him as my Ecstatic Friend and Waiting Lover this day?
