Matthew 26:10 "Extravagant Love" (February 11)

Matthew 26
Bookend stories...
On one Bookend: Chief Priests, Caaiaphas & Elders - PLOTTING to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him...
On the other Bookend: Judas of Iscariot, a Disciple - PLANNING to slip away and betray his Lord.
Caught In the Middle of her Story:  Indignant Disciples over Mary of Bethany - POURING extravagance on her LORD, an expensive ointment that cost a year in wages.
Matthew 26:10 "She has done a beautiful thing to me."

Yesterday, Twinkle did a beautiful thing to me.  All of you have one day or one moment or another given me beauty.  I'll carry Twinkle's words, her story, her perfume forever because she carried me.  Praying for each of you this day that you live extravagantly in your love for Him!

  1. "For she has done a beautiful thing to me."

As a Christian, this teaching today has always challenged me to be passionate in my following of Christ. Some things He asks of us makes us humbly do the uncomfortable. And maybe even appear foolish. Following him...here...went beyond service...and became worship.

    The purest kind of worship.

  2. This month of love is a beautiful month to do something gracious for people that have changed our lives. Mary of Bethany is an example.

Bev, I offer you a small gift. In appreciation. You have given me so much with this daily reminder of how much Jesus loves me.

Praying for you to receive His daily manna.

Thankful for 2 phone calls this week, Annette and Bev. Annette's phone accidentally called me! I called back and we had the sweetest time of fellowship!

So strange that the phone called me. Had to be meant for good.

And then, Bev. Wow. An hour of sweet communion with Jesus through the phone. I was on my way home, she was on her way to a taping of Beth Moore for Life Today. But we were totally together with Jesus as we talked along the way. He was our focus.

Delivering Grace, to each other...only God could do that in our situations!

Thank YOU, Bev. You are loved, treasured and surrounded by God's Love. Don't ever doubt that. Many many many have suffered before us all in His Name and for His Glory. Hold fast.
