LOVE LETTER #1 - Genesis - January 1-17

Someone once said: If we want to get to know God through His Word, then nothing matters more than listening to Him. May we listen to the Voice of Love this year. Leave a comment(s) about the Book of the Bible we are reading. We will be reading Genesis from January 1st through the 17th. Feel free to comment on any day when God stirs something in your heart. What lingers for you? I'm praying Titus 1:1 for all of us that the knowledge of the Truth leads us to godliness---changed lives---in our hearts, in our world.

  2. Genesis 1:2 - the Spirit of God is brooding over the waters like a bird over its nest until new life stirs beneath the sheltering wings. I know how "dark" my history is...I've lived self-obsessed for my life to be better, rather than God-obsessed. But those gods have no more sway in the fray of my heart. Not ambition for ministry; not to be somebody...for a Beautiful God was brooding on Day #1 and the Word says He still broods on another Day #1 of 2010 over my darkness and is turning it into Light! Psalm 18:28.

  3. Hey Bev,
Just wanted to let you know that I ordered the book--and it's shipped from Amazon, so I should have it in my hands in a few weeks! Thanks for doing this...

  4. Happy New Year. I enjoyed kicking off 2010 by reading the first three verses in Genesis today. Looking forward to the next 364 days of journey with everyone. Thank you for so very much for doing this journey through the Bible.

My lesson for today was to continue to pray for strength to overcome the temptations that come my way. I needed that little reminder at the start of a new year.

    Lots of Love,

  6. Light....He is the Light of the World...that has been going around and around in my heart and head for at least the last six weeks. So hard to put into words...but without Light everything is darkness. He shows us the way, IF we will but look to the Light.

  10. Deborah "Twinkle" and I were thinking the same--it seems so appropriate to start at the beginning. I love the blank page of a new year, and the chance for a "do over" never in perfection, but in pursuing Him, and finding satisfaction. Genesis-how appropriate and good of God to give us a beginning, a newness, where Light falls to expose and eliminate darkness. I am late to post but wanted to start at the very beginning, a very good place to start. Love to each of you, A
