I Tim 5:21 "No Partiality" (November 17)

It happened again today.  I'm partial to those who treat me with kindness.
I Timothy 5:21 Do nothing from partiality.
So what does this mean?

There are no "big people" and "little people" in this world.
Those Gospel eyes see right through the unconspicuous sins.
We may look good on the outside...but what's within?

Do I perceive that some people matter, some don't?
Especially those who write me off.
May we move in love toward all God's people, big & small.

Grateful to a Good God Who doesn't keep count.
Grateful for Gospel Eyes that make me want to repent.
Grateful for Enduring Grace that covers like Noah's blanket.

  1. "train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance.

For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe."

I did the same thing today, Bev.(showing partiality) An older woman endeared herself to me because of flattery and I had a new best friend. So easily swayed. So needy for words of affirmation. Thankful to God who knows no partiality but looks to see that no one is overlooked, discounted.

Godliness, Lord! Please help me grow in godliness to be more like I'm supposed to look by now. I get discouraged that I still battle with the elementary aspects of holiness. Forgive me, Lord. Bring me to Your Feet again to this end, my hope set on the living God!
