Romans 4"17 "God Calls Into Being Things That Are Not" (August 1)

Romans 4:3 ~ What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."  You are blessed because apart from any work, any thing you ever "do" to earn My Love or stiff arm Me away, God credits you as righteous in His Sight. And the credit came to Abraham before circumcision.

No sin will ever be counted against you, not the one you are presently in nor past sins nor future ones coming.  Let us follow in the footsteps of this kind of faith in a God Who gives Life to the dead and calls into being things that were not ~ Romans 4:17 ~ Face what is True in your life this day and Against All Hope, Believe!  Be strengthened in faith Give God the Glory ~ Rom 4:20 ~ because you're already persuaded that God has the Power to do what He promised ~ Rom 4:21~ Whatever He chooses to do, Give God the Glory!

  1. Romans 4:20 "No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was "counted to him as righteousness." But the words "it was counted to him" were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification."

Faith counts as righteousness! Wow, that rocked my world today. I always struggle with my feelings of not being good enough, not holy or sinless enough, but if I have faith, I will receive righteousness. I will accept this promise, continuing to live by faith.

  2. I know, Jan. If we really got that faith is what counts, sin is totally overcome by a confession and turning away, and righteousness is gained by trusting in our Lord who can do all things...imagine how much freer we can feel. It still falls fresh to hear we don't have to be good enough, but believe. And believing is work! But today's reading tells us we can hope where there is no hope, believe when nobody else could because the God in Whom we believe and the God in whom Abraham believed gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. All things are possible in Christ!

  6. Thank you, Bev. Your prayers are so appreciated here as we enter the speed round of wedding planning! It is still surreal at this point to imagine 30 years of child-raising and every moment that went into that endeavor to now be about each of them doing what we've done for the last 31 years Our anniversary is today so I am very nostalgic of what it means to stay married and love and be loved by someone through thick and thin. I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't afraid for them. God will see them through, too--if they remember Where there help comes from. We raise our Ebenezer stone of remembrance this day and celebrate! Redeeming love has been our theme...
