John 20:15 "Whom Are You Seeking?" (June 12)

John 20:7 John saw that the face cloth was folded.  A custom that meant that the work was finished. What could John feel finding an empty tomb? Whatever he felt, he believed the Scriptures. And Peter, the first to walk in the tomb, witnessed the flogged, wounded, scourged, crucified body of his LORD m-i-s-s-i-n-g.   And Mary, peering in, sees two angels who ask: "Why are you weeping?" A quick turn around and the supposed gardener asks Mary the same question.  Then, asks John 20:15 "Whom are you seeking?"  It's the same question our LORD asks us this day, 2000 years later.  Whom do we seek?  Do we seek to solve our situations over seeking the Face of our God?  Am I humble enough to say Your Will be done, at any cost to me? So many people in so many impossible situtations.  He rose from the grave to conquer our sin.  He rises up this day to stand in our path and ask us Whom do we seek? Oh, weeping woman, take courage. The Risen Savior first appeared to a woman.  Not to the Beloved John or Peter the Rock but to a weeping woman.  He loves you so, dear girl.

  1. Good resurrection morning...dear Pearls....for those of you who did not get to read my comment from yesterday.....Sally is free of cancer from the neck down. They have to make some crucial decisions in the next few days, I am sure that is why there is so much corporate prayer being offered last night and tonight and fasting tomorrow for her family. They are seeking Him as the Healer. So many shed tears when they start to pray for her, so we know that God does hear our hearts and we are seeking this not for ourselves but for the glory of God. This is an impossible situation BUT GOD is the two sweet words. The enemy would have us grow faint in praying for Sally or those in our families who need Him. He is calling us to seek Him for them till there is NO more hope here on earth. There is hope of eternity for those who are saved, but for those who are not saved, may we NEVER give up from seeking His face to draw them to Himself.

The folded face cloth saying "it is finished"...how beautiful. I've also heard that when you folded your dinner cloth that meant you were coming back again. What a precious Savior we seek and we can always find Him WHEN we seek Him. He desires to be found. What a sweet thought to carry me through this day.
    Love to all of you....

  2. "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Today we read of the first glimpses of the Son of Man shown to His followers.

They first saw with their own eyes the empty tomb that was left with the white wrappings of His ultimate gift to mankind...His own body given for us.

For just a moment, enter that tomb. Look at the linens, look at the folded face cloth. Smell the tomb and all it's fragrance.

    Feel the grief.

Feel the beginnings of anger rising up in them as it appears that someone has stolen His body.

Feel the stark reality of the empty tomb.

Grieve as one grieves for a barren womb.

    No hope.

Listen to the Voice speak, "Mary."

Hear Him declare, "My God and your God." We share blood relationship with God by His finished work. Not by our goodness. But by our repentance and our belief on Him.

Blessed are those who believe without seeing.

Blessed are those who believe without touching.

Blessed are those who believe even in the emptiness of a tomb.

Blessed are those who believe the testimony of a woman...His first eyewitness.

Blessed are those who believe the testimony of fishermen, a tax collector, simple men who KNEW Him and saw Him with their own eyes.

Blessed are those who believe the testimony of the one whom Jesus loved, who stayed with Him through the darkest day in history, who wept with Mary and took her as his own mother...and set these words of the book of John to paper.

I have loved this book. It is a precious look at the Lover of my soul, Jesus Christ. I have wept tears over the pages as I read of His compassion...not only for the people recorded in this book...but His compassion for me...for us...for the world.

    John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son...that whosoever believeth on Him shall have everlasting life.

    I believe.
    Without seeing.
    Without touching.
    And I am blessed...
