2,000 years ago, Jesus lifted his eyes to heaven
and prayed for you and me.
John 17:9 ~ I am not praying for the world
but for those whom you have given me ~
May they be one
God's Joy fulfilled in them
Kept from the Evil One
Sanctify them in The Truth
May God's Love be in you and me.
Spoken 2,000 years ago for this present hour.
What is most important in life
is this present hour...
Dear Ones, He prayed for us so long ago. We were drawn by the Father and given to Jesus so that we might live for all eternity with them in heaven and with one another.
ReplyDeleteHow I pray that I reflect His love to others, especially those close to me who see me warts and all. May they see me live out what He has put in my heart, even when I am jostled or am tired etc.
My sweet friend Sally, whose brain has not one tumor but many, she said lesions in her brain. They are giving her ten radiation treatments. Not sure when they started but at least a week ago. Then she will go back on the chemo treatments. She has asked for prayer against discouragement and despair. People here will start to cry when they give a prayer request for her or even start to pray. May she represent all of those who are in such tight, desperate places. There are people there helping to take care of precious Drew. May He receive all of the glory and honor in her life and her husband's life. May we not fail to pray for her and other like her that He brings across our paths.
Praying for all of you and especially our dear Bev. Can't wait for the post you are going to put on your blog. I know it will bless us and honor Him.
Oh Mary Lou, the suffering for Sally is immense as she watches for her LORD to carry her through this Red Sea to the other side surrounded in danger. So young. But it's not about age but about what happens inside of us. Praying a miracle---5 loaves and 2 fish---for your friend. She's in such a tight place. Come, O God, our God-of-the-Tight-Places. May she fight the good fight of faith and we all help her do just that through our prayers - 2 Tim 4:7. I know I've asked before...what is her caring bridge site? Can you text it to me please?
ReplyDeleteBev, don't mind putting her site on here...it is sallycleek. just as I have typed it...I think the addresses on Caring bridge are always in lower case and run together. she has had over 19,000 hits...they both know a lot of people and people who know people are praying for her, just as you all are....
ReplyDeleteOne of those moments that there simply are no words. Sally has so much to face I'm praying just as she requested for her hope in the hard places. My friend who had cancer would often ask for the same thing--more faith. And it always amazed me. Not healing or freedom from suffering but for her to finish well. She is on our Pearl hearts as she heroically faces the enemy. Thank you for keeping us aware of her situation, Mary Lou. And I also pray this evening for all the lives she touches that their faith would buoy her and not falter. Love and hugs, A
ReplyDeleteMike and I are praying for Sally. I don't know what to say, just keep praying for her. We put her on our prayer chain at our church. God never fails.
ReplyDeleteBev, just sent you a msg over FB...on Wed afternoon about two thirty.....
ReplyDeleteI am at a ranch in Lamapasa---unplanned mini-vacation trying to recover from the food poisoning. There is no internet access here so I cannot post until Thursday night. Thanks for your patience and understanding. I'm doing well and hope you are too.
