There are things that I do that reveal that I want the glory from man more than God's glory which may be earthly silent.
John 12: 43 - They loved the glory that comes from man more than the Glory that comes from God.
Does the silence of my Good God mean He isn't giving me what I want here on earth. There are a couple of things, in my heart of hearts, that I have desired for most of my life that God has withheld. But, really. Has God withheld or does Bev seek glory she doesn't have?
What do I want more than the Glory of God?
If HE be lifted up, He will draw all men to Himself.
How can I spend my little life lifting up the Name of Jesus.
Not begging, persuading, convincing, judging.
Lifting Up His Name.
Thinking about the Glory! He has shown it to me two times in my life as an overwhelming bright cloud-like presence. Both times I was at the end of myself, didn't know how I could even breathe.
ReplyDeleteTo know His Glory, I had to empty myself of me, and allow Him to fill me.
Lord, help me to remember the holiness of your glory, to remain empty, waiting for you to fill me.

From the beginning, this world has been a place of darkness.
ReplyDeleteLight every candle, turn on every lamp, shine spotlights...it is a dark world. Darker than night.
But One came, from the Glorious Father above. He came as the Light of the world. His brightness SPLIT through the darkness and still is the only Light that shines.
And the world loves darkness, because their works are dark.
Believers, the Light of the world is in you!
Let Him shine forth His Glory by surrendering your all to Him.

ReplyDeleteI agree Bev, about getting sidetracked in this world looking more for glory from man than for God. It is a constant battle. His ways are not our ways.
I would appreciate prayers as we go into the weekend for peace. We have too many directions we're being pulled right now--none of them undoable but together, overwhelming. Mike and I both know we need to simplify and we are just now seeing a way God may be leading us to that place. Just want you to know how much I appreciate you on Pearls. I love our safe place.May He be glorified.
