Acts 9:31 "Not Only Possible But Predominant" (June 29)

Acts 9:22 Saul increased all the more in strength.  And how did he do that?  Saul went for three years into the desert to be alone before this God Who had called him.  Be still, Saul, and know I am God.  Surrounded by thirst and dust and hunger and wild animals and alone.  Saul found God in the desert.  Psalm 81:10 - Saul opened his mouth and God filled it with Himself.  Truly, God found Saul in the desert.  And what happened next?  Acts 9:31 "The church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied."  This isn't about numbers.  Not about results.  All about the Spirit of the Living God Who has come.  Jesus had physically been with the disciples and they didn't change in character like they did in the Book of Acts.  Look at Saul the persecutor.  Look at bold Peter raising Tabitha from the dead.  Their lives are passionately radically changed.  And 2,000 years later, we believe that real lasting change of heart in not only possible but predominant in the heart of Saul and Peter ... and it is predominant this day for the heart that asks for it, the heart that seeks for it, and the heart that knocks.  Whatever God has allowed in your life this day, He is deepening your Strength in Him for accomplishing anything on our own power is just simply ludicrous.

  1. Made it to Florida. I should not have come. Thought I had a green light to come. I'm sitting on a picturesque Greek-islandesque beach. I am pretty bare-hearted broken today and trusting in midst of lots of darkness that I can't see my way out of. Couldn't be any more down today is how I feel. Psalm 81:10 - Open my mouth God with better words and fill it with Yourself. Praying Psalm 80:17. My Love to each of you. I'll be praying for you this week as I walk the beach and hope to find my Good God in the midst of all this stuff I am dealing with. I am really struggling while looking at such beautiful Handiwork here. Oxymoror. I think today's post is so for me---I need a Deeper Strength. Please pray for me! Love you all!

  2. Oh, Bev. Praying for you this morning. Do you know the acronym HALT? It is a reminder to not let yourself get to Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired...you have been burning the candle at both ends, on the road so much, and with difficult people. I pray you recharge your batteries as you take walks on the beach, and rest in His provision. Praying Psalm 91 over you this morning.

    Isaiah 58:8
Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
