Where did the fearful, timid Peter find such boldness as he speaks out:
You crucified and killed the Christ, you lawless men. Acts 2:23.
Peter spoke of their crimes and said it several different ways. When the crowds heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"
Peter's response: Acts 2:38 - "Repent...". The word in the Greek is plural and an imperative command. Change your mind. Change your life. Change your direction. So...
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayers. Pretty good change of heart. Is there any of those four that we are not devoted to? Where is our sense of awe, our wonder. Acts 2:43 ~ "And awe came upon every soul."
We've lost the sense of awe and wonder. We need to have it again and NOT lose it. He is so Holy and so Big and we do not fully realize how we should talk to Him and treat His name. With every day that I live I am beginning to sense that I have barely touched the hem of His garment. I do believe without seeing and I do not have to have any mind blowing miracles to believe, I would like to have some of the awe and sense of His holiness. Please be in prayer for Sally tomorrow at ten....that is when the spinal tap is. There is a lot of corporate prayer being offered in various cities...they body of Christ has been united on this...just like it was when we were praying for Joanne Heim.... I did get a small glimpse of how Big He was then and how prayers were originating in heaven....and they are being done for Sally and her family.
ReplyDeleteGod knows her frame. God knows the way Sally takes. Praying for Sally and her family.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying this morning, Mary Lou--praying for Sally, for healing, for comfort during the spinal tap, to be cancer-free. You are right--He is so much bigger. And it must please Him so when we unite in prayer, looking to Him for our answers, for our miracles.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't look good for Joanne yet He showed Himself gloriously. And He continues to prove Himself huge in her situation. He wants us to be the conduit in prayer to call down the power from heaven.
Lord, make us vessels that carry You into others' lives as well as our own. Overflow Living Waters into Sally. Graciously give her wholeness. In the Name of the Risen Christ Jesus, Amen.
