Luke 22:40 "Whisper A Little Prayer for Me" (May 3)

Luke 22:31 ~ Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail.  The "you" is singular, referring to Peter, until one reads prayed for "you" and it's plural.  Jesus prayed for all those who would follow Him---for you and me.  And when we have turned again...when we have repented like Peterr will, then go and strengthen others.  Ministry follows repentance.
Bible scholars have said that Satan accused the disciples of being "mercenary" in following Christ, advancing their own ambitions.  Didn't we just have a dispute over who was the greatest when Jesus announced He was going to leave them and suffer.  Their argument didn't exactly go with the announcement.

Satan desired to sift them with temptation that he might show them to be chaff and not wheat...to overwhelm them with troubles and draw them into sin and "put them into a loss and hurry."  God allowed Satan to tempt Peter just like he tempted Job.  Satan wanted to prove them all hypocrites.  God wanted to prove them faithful, even when denying Him three times.  Pray that you may not enter into temptation ~ Luke 22:40.

Would those of you who read this post today, stop and pray for those who comment here on this blog?
And, if you feel led, would you please leave a prayer for one of your friends here.

  1. I'm taking this post on early.
And my prayer is for Sylvia:

Heavenly Father, Carry this friend of ours, precious Sylvia, whom we love and You adore. Would you strengthen her on the inside where it really counts that she might walk by faith this week, always. May she not be overwhelmed by the cares that surround her. May they not put her into sin and tumble her into a hurry. Quiet and still her soul. Psalm 131. Would you give her some hope this week in what she sees. Your Will be done! She's a beautiful girl and she's Yours, always. Thank you for this life well lived. We praise You for what you are doing in her and through her. Thank you God for Sylvia!

Join us in praying for the pearls this week!

  2. I have tried several times to post a prayer for Bev and Bob and the blog will not receive it. Praise God that our Heavenly Father has already received it and in His Timing Bev and Bob will receive it too.

Love you all. This is a Prayer Song I must Sing. Sylvia

  3. Father God, Maker of Heaven and Earth, I praise you for the
beautiful Pearls on this Blog String. My heart is concern for Bev, our Mama Pearl as I bow down humbly before Elohim, Almighty God. I pray for Bev and Bob to experience your compassion and mercy today that it would become very evident to them in the midst of their current storm. LORD, I praise you for the miracles you have and continue to perform in Bev’s body as you restore her health each day. May Nehemiah 8:10b …the JOY of the LORD is my strength become Bev and Bob’s song as they face the challenges of today. I praise you myriad of testimonies Jehovah Jireh has and is present in their lives. Thank you for giving them the strength and courage to share their story that Jesus Christ is and will be glorified.

I praise The Ancient of Days in making a way for Bev to post each day on String of Pearls that the Word of the LORD will be proclaimed.

Just as I pray for Bev & Bob our Mama Pearl misses her children and hurts when they hurt. I lift up Blair and Adam to the throne of Grace for them to be able to see a Merciful Heavenly Father in the midst of their traumatic and tremendous loss of material possessions. I also pray for complete healing for Britt as he has fought illness most of his freshman year at UT.
I conclude my prayer for Bev & Bob and their family with Psalm 103:1-5 Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my in most being, praise his holy name. 2 Praise the LORD, O my soul and forget not all his benefits--- 3who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, 5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:20 Praise the LORD, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word. 21 Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will. 22 Praise the LORD all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the LORD, O my soul.
In the Holy and Mighty Name of Jesus Christ our LORD, Amen. This is a Prayer Song I must Sing, Sylvia

  5. My heart is heavy for so many today. I pray for Bev and Bob and their family each day. I echo Sylvia's prayer for them and stand in agreement with her before the throne of God.

I lift Angie up to our Lord and ask that He meet each need that she has and provide for her and grant her the desires of her heart as she clings to Him and looks to Him for all of her answers.

I also lift up two young women, Sally and April who are facing tremendous odds in their health. I pray You will fill each one of them with Your Peace and Your Presence as they go through this day in their lives when decisions are being made concerning their welfare. Satan has truly desired to sift them as wheat, as He has all of us, but they are standing in the lion's den of cancer ready to consume them and I pray for a hedge of protection about them.

May we each one look to Him and receive strength from Him and from His Word and from each other, so that we may stand tall and finish well, whenever He chooses to call us Home.

  6. Beautiful idea to record our prayers for each other, Bev. Like Sylvia said, He has already heard, but so each of you will feel the blanket of love that covers you, read these prayers and be blessed. I am praying for each of you this day so please ask for prayers as you feel led as well as intercede for others. We are family!

My written prayer today is for Mary Lou, for Jesus to fill her in the waiting. Father God, bless our sister, Mary Lou, as she faithfully waits on you in several areas of her life. Thank you for her life that is such an encouragement to each of us here on Pearls, and to so many more. Thank you for keeping them safe in the storms last week, and for protection from harm as they waited in closets for the storm to pass. Just as real as the weather storm, there are storms of the heart that she is dealing with right now. Heal her in every way, make her heart new as You promised in Ezekiel 36:25-27. Her heart is beautiful now, so we ask for physical health and spiritual flourishing as she serves you, Lord. We also pray for Sally this week as she gives birth for her healing from the cancer, and strength for the baby and strong lungs, and every other need that only You know. Bless them in their hour of need. Sustain them in their journey. And Father, we give thanks for the miracles You have given them in drawing their son back to You, for answered prayer! Father, your sheep know your voice. Speak healing and wisdom over the Lowrance family and hear their prayers. We wait with hope and in peace because of Your Love. In the healing and powerful Name above every other, Jesus Christ the Lord, Amen.

  7. Holy Father, in humble faith I pray for my pearl friend, Jan. You have given her a beautiful smile. Please use her smile to draw the hurting to Christ Jesus. You have given her a mind full of wisdom. Keep filling her mind with the wisdom of your holy Word. Use her to speak life into those who need your guidance. Father, open her eyes to see areas you are calling her to serve in. As she pour out, fill her by your Spirit overflowing. Father, strengthen her to serve others. Bless her family with a generation of believers that will carry forth a legacy of faith in the name of Jesus Christ. Treat her daily with glimpses of your glory. Wrap her in your love. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Jan! Jesus loves you so very much and so do I!

  10. Oh, No! I have been SO self-absorbed that I didn't take the time to come by here yesterday. I have no good excuse so I'm not even going to try. When I talked with Annette yesterday she and I were talking about what a great idea this was. I have to admit that something like this scares me. I think I have some left over healing that must be done in the area of R.E.J.E.C.T.I.O.N. I have been left out before and I would hate for anyone to feel like they don't belong because they don't feel adequate enough to leave the the right words.

My heart is heavy for Deborrah though. I know God knows all of her concerns and He knows how to comfort her in the way she needs and in ways none of us can adequately express on this blog. Lord, keep invading her life and wrap her so close to Your heart that there is no room for satan to get anywhere near my precious sister.

For anyone who reads this comment, trust me that God is So much bigger than anything you are facing this day. He can be trusted with your deepest secrets!
