Luke 6:20 "The Bride is Ready" (March 31)

Luke 6:20 - Lift your Eyes on each of us who follow You, dear God.  Help us this very moment to know that we are blessed if we are down to our last dime for we have the Kingdom!  Make this weeping wife know that one day I will laugh again.  And every day, when we are excluded, can you open our eyes to see that we are blessed right there in the midst of aloneness.
Our reward is great in heaven.  And as we peek and peer into Eternity, what do hear there?
Rev. 19: 6-8 Hallelujah!  Rejoice and Be Glad.  Give Him Glory!
For the Wedding of the Lamb has come and His Bride has made herself ready!
So how are we doing making ourselves ready?  Am I aiming to be perfect here?  Great marriage, successful ministry, awesome kids, fulfilling friendships...wait!  That's not what is being proclaimed in Eternity. What  is being proclaimed in Revelations 19 is twofold:

1. The Final Victory has already been WON!  Christ Jesus accomplished His Plan and reigns forever!

2.  The Marriage Supper of the Lamb has COME!  We have been invited to the Wedding, but WAIT, you are the Bride.  You stand scarlet no more.  Your sins are gone.  You stand before your Groom, pure and holy as He!

We are not singing---We've done it!  Our children turned out great!  Here's our successful ministries planted in Your Name!  My marriage was awesome!  Look what I did with my life!  No, we are singing His Praises from way-down-deep gratitude for lives lived by His Presence, His Power that changed us and made us who we are walking down the aisle.

Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for they shall see God!

  1.    "Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep."

Sometimes I get worried because life is going too well for me and I can "laugh now." I know it sounds strange, but God has Blessed me so much... especially when I see what others are going through. Not that I want things to change, but I'm just sayin'. I am glad to be in His Word so I can somewhat prepare myself for those times when the Earthquakes come!

Bev, you are not excluded here! You have a great big family who loves you dearly and is praying for you! I'm so thankful for all of you sisters today!

Find something to make you laugh until your stomach hurts today!

  2. Blessed are you who are poor, are hungry, who weep. And blessed are you when people hate you, revile you, exclude you because of Me. For your joy will be great. Not about here or now. But He sees and Eternity is so much longer.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future."

Today is difficult. But it's a blink of the eye. Eternity is better than we have words for or knowledge of and it is forever. Can we just hold on a little while longer?

  3. Luke 6:21-- "God's kingdom is there for the finding.
You're blessed when you're ravenously hungry.
Then you're ready for the Messianic meal.
You're blessed when the tears flow freely.
    Joy comes with the morning."

Thanks to God who gives, who takes, who comforts, who loves me enough to make me experience pain. Through pain, through heartbreak,I realize I am not in control of my life. I gradually learn how to let go.
It is only through loss of my will, and my plans, I draw closer, even closer until I am enveloped in the holiness of Him.

  4. He is truly found in the shadows and in the pain...it only hurts for a short time...which we find hard to believe because we are time bound. IF He answered all of our prayers like a microwave, then we would not really come to know Him at all.

My young friend was only in surgery half the time they anticipated...which was great for her and they baby..two hours instead of four...doctor came out and said "there must be something to this prayer thing"....What do you girls think? Anyway, thank you and bless you for lifting her and her baby to the throne..

Had my echocardiogram this morning...won't know till next week I'm sure IF I need to see the doctor soon or IF I can wait till May 18th.....I'm not worried, my husband is...pray for him. I have no pain, no symptoms...just holding on to Him and His perfect timing...

  5. 20And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said:

"Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God..."

I had never noticed that He was speaking to his disciples when He spoke the Sermon on the Mount. Blessings and Woes.

He gives them the Kingdom of God.

    But He declares them poor.

God's eyes see the richness of our hearts as fertile soil. Soft and ready for planting.

    Not stony ground at all.

    He sows love.
    He sows faith.
    He sows hope.

The Kingdom of God is compassion. May our hearts be turned over, tendered by the Master, nourished by His Word, fruitful because of His touch.

Our eyes are lifted up to You, Jesus. We bless Your Name.
